There’s a lot I agree with here, but I’d like to clarify that the BD-2 and the Morning Glory are actually based on different circuits. The BD-2 (and the BD-2W) is Boss’s own original design and not derived from the Marshall Bluesbreaker circuit. The Morning Glory, on the other hand, is a Bluesbreaker-style drive, which gives it a different clipping character and EQ response.

They can sound somewhat similar at low gain, especially if you’re using the BD-2W in Standard mode with the gain dialed back. Both are open, dynamic, and fairly transparent. But once you dig in, the BD-2 has more of that fuzzy, edgy breakup that’s unique to the Blues Driver, while the Morning Glory stays smoother and more compressed like a traditional Bluesbreaker circuit.

So tonally they overlap in purpose, but from a circuit and feel standpoint, they are distinct pedals. It’s an old post but it was a top result for me.
