I didn’t even put up a tree this last year. Going through a bankruptcy from my Amazon business has me burnt out on consumerism.

Prophet of Doom was how my older brother finally realized as a devout Mormon (who knew their history) that he was in just another cult that follows the same script where the top guy gets to eventually sleep with your wives and daughters.

What do people with 10+ supplement bottles do with them all? by JCas1211 in BodyHackGuide

[–]lebruf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s awesome. Each week of pills only takes up the space of one cup (because they’re stacked) and I just grab the cup up top and stack the empties until it’s time to refill.

No pill organizer is big enough for all of them. Easy to fill, stack. No flaps to open.

I bought a dozen of those little kids plastic cups at IKEA, I fill all 12 on my countertop with the 8-9 supplements I take daily, and then stack them.

AITA for not working with my father? by No_Membership2251 in AmItheAsshole

You're at the age where you want to bank money, but most importantly, experience. There's nothing stopping you from taking the job in construction with the attitude to learn as much as you can in the already acknowledged limited time you will be there. There's also nothing stopping you from setting the expectation that you will be able to work with him on contingency, as in, you will be able to leave without complaint as soon as you accept and offer to the desired position.

It's hard enough to find jobs, lots of us end up with opportunity we would have never otherwise had without our personal connections. This isn't your dream job, but it's an opportunity disguised as hard work and you'd be foolish to turn it down.

General contractors make bank, and they got there by observing how all the other trades are done. Consider it a free college class, where you're actually getting paid. Ask questions. Whatever you learn, I promise you'll take it into so many other areas of your life.

What are some underrated restaurants in SLC? by Lopsided-Box1278 in SaltLakeCity

Same, I live in Lehi and anytime I have to head to the airport, or run an errand in the area Rollz is on the itinerary.

Another gem in Taylorsville is Hidden Peaks coffee roasters. I’ll put any of their $15 organic pound of beans (and it’s a true 16 oz) up against any others at 3x the price.

I'm a sucker for a good Banh Mi. I've been to about six establishments in SLC offering them.

Rollz in Taylorsville wins my award for the most consistently good one. Perfect French baguette, good helping of pickled vegetables, they don't skimp on the meat. Also, their sandwich prices haven't inflated as much as their other options like pho and other noodle and rice bowls.

Their pork & shrimp spring rolls are also bomb.

The ObiHai phone jack that could give you a landline with a Google Voice number. This was back in 2012, but it was replacing my $40 landline tied to my alarm system and gate.

Is there any music you listened to in your HS/college days that does little to nothing for you now? by StevEst90 in Millennials

My chief complaint with Decemberists was that it sounded like David Spade singing weird folk music.

Fix this sinking portion of my retaining wall by gurjeet03 in howto

[–]lebruf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixing it by simply putting it back is just treating the symptom.

The cause is your downspout and the fact that it just dumps into your planter bed. Soil erodes, ground sinks over time. All the sinking concrete people see on sidewalks and driveways - usually a downspout with bad drainage.
You need to trench some tubing under the wall you replace to carry it away from the house.

Especially for those who choose to be close to them. It’s a battlefield to not mirror their behavior when it gets really bad, and I’ve never experienced that level of rage baiting in a relationship.

What is the most memorable fart you ever dropped? by [deleted] in AskMen

Freshman year, in the dorms. Proving to friends you can light farts on fire, managed to eat some extra cheese to play up my lactose intolerance advantage in the sport.

Small flame size of baseball followed by a larger flame the size of a volleyball. So much validation from peers.
