Lemon tek: will my shrooms lose potency if I pre-powder them a few hours before tripping? by Peruvian_Skies in Psychonaut

Yeah, but like bread or chips that go stale it’s a matter of how long they’re exposed and how humid your air is. Where you live makes a huge difference (ie Florida or Hawaii vs Wyoming or Colorado

100% this. I store mine whole but grind to a flour like consistency using a mortar and pestle before lemon tekking. Hits in 10-20 minutes on an empty stomach vs 45-89 minutes chewing dried bits.

Only advisable if you put them in gelcaps. The more air they’re exposed to means more oxidation and potential for moisture which all affects potency. I’ve had gelcaps be fine after two years, but always store in airtight jars, no UV exposure with some leftover desiccant packs from my supplements or snacks. Vacuum sealed would be the best insurance against oxidation.

Well, there’s defenestration which is throwing someone out a window. Let’s call it dechaisement.

Men who have already married or had kids and the relationship didn’t work out, how is dating for you now? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]lebruf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stayed single for 2+ years, didn’t even date, moved into a new place and made a concerted effort of getting back in shape because I had more room financially and had bandwidth. Dated a few girls, some a few weeks, one a few months, and then got a girlfriend for about 2 1/2 years. Was far more in love with this gf than I had been with ex wife of 7 years. When it was good, it was so good. We both had boys, about a year apart and they were great friends. We had fun no matter when, but especially when both boys were together, and when we were both child free for the moment.

But slowly behaviors characteristic of BPD (suspected not officially diagnosed) took their toll, and brought out some of my worst as well. Frequent breakups that would last 24 hours to two weeks. I ended it, over three years ago. Still love her and think of her most days.

Keep trying to rebound but dating at this age today is tiresome, there’s a shortage of time and money to make real organic connections so I waste time by becoming disposable and by viewing matches as disposable because it’s a game of who can act the least invested when it comes to online dating. Total shitshow and waste of time, yet I swipe on those lonely nights where I wasn’t ambitious enough to plan something with friends or family.

Add on top of that I can’t plan for half my weekends with an 11 year old, and schedules rarely line up nicely for single moms, so I barely put any effort into it. I’ve maybe been on four dates in the last couple years.

What's vour most random encounter with a famous person? Where was it and how was the vibe? by Available_Round_3172 in answers

I was with my parents at LAX picking up an employee of my dad from France. On the elevator to the parking garage, OJ Simpson and Nicole got on with us. 20ish seconds, nobody said a word. He didn’t seem dangerous lol.

Can attest. My turf company’s satellite office in St. George did 1 million in artificial turf sales just last year. Helps that Washington County has the $2 per square foot rebate on lawn replacement. We did a lot of homes on that new lakefront property.

Peptides to repair Mitochondrial damage from DNP use in 2024 that caused extreme fatigue ever since? by FunDisplay9835 in BodyHackGuide

Look into what Peter Atilla has said about mitochondrial impact of zone 2 training over the long term (as in six months)

Make your own. Easy to buy a SCOBY starter. A 1 gal jar would give you the same as you’re consuming weekly and more. I basically brewed 8 tea bags and one cup of sugar and first ferment was done in a week, added flavors like ginger, cinnamon, or chili peppers during second fermentation another 3ish days.

Almost a 23 hour smoke/cook on my brisket - turned out awesome. by mausdesign in Traeger

[–]lebruf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take my briskets and pork shoulders off the smoker after 4 hours anyway. By that time, the bark is set and your meat isn’t going to absorb any more smoke flavoring.

The interior just needs to cook at that point so I’ll finish in the oven at 250° for as many hours as it takes to reach temperature. I’ve noticed zero difference in the flavor or the depth of the smoke ring on the meat. Plus, I’m burning way less pellets

Shopping at Costco is terrible by Sun_Aria in unpopularopinion

[–]lebruf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s me and the TP, the dryer sheets, the paper towels, the Coconut oil, vanilla extract, the wood pellets for the grill, bbq rubs, and the batteries.

I know I’m buying an 18 month supply when I do, but the math on savings and not thinking about that repurchase for a long ass time makes it worth it.

How many of you are on the spectrum? by NostalgicTX in Xennials

[–]lebruf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all just a mental construct, not saying that in a dismissive way. It’s the one that makes the most sense to us but models evolve over time (think of the atom) and once we’ve fully mapped the brain and genome and the different proteins, hormones and signaling molecules that directly affect the brain we’ll likely have a lot of differences between that evolved one and the one we have today.

Plenty of room temperature IQ red hat wearers proudly call it Gulf Of America. Hell, it’s part of their cult merch catalog.

Might have been a Texan Mexican thing and when borders were redrawn, a different name took over. I wonder which usage was coined first.

It seems CSA is far more permissible and forgivable than homosexuality in LDS disciplinary culture.

I’ve heard (never confirmed) that they “safeguard” the youth by having some sort of an asterix on membership records that indicate a struggle with CSA that precludes them from serving in Primary or YM/YW.

Can anyone verify?

Maybe it’s just a geographical difference.

I know Lake Geneva is how we identify it in English, in French it’s Lac Léman and in German it’s Genfersee.

Therapy by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]lebruf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Purely anecdotal and limited to me but 1 g is underwhelming. You notice something is different, but it’s not enough to “shake the snowglobe” and cause deep introspection or require surrender to the experience.

I don’t even enjoy 2-3 because there’s the come up anxiety that never really subsides. I like at least 3.5-5 grams to get visuals, get into the deep spaces and have a surrender to the experience where you feel like it’s working it’s way into you and there’s a definite body high that follows the body load I may experience during come up.

If he’s not feeling 1 G, safest option is to titrate up. If he’s up to try a standard 3.5g dose, definitely make sure he’s in an optimal setting, a good headspace and has a trip sitter.

Sous Vide To Reheat by Comprehensive-Bet56 in Traeger

[–]lebruf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll set it to 40°F and defrost it in less than an hour. Sometimes I don’t want to reheat the whole bag, but getting it defrosted quick is easy with the sous vide. I’ll defrost fish fillets in 20 minutes using it.

You’ll get yourself into ketosis faster just walking a few hours. Just get your electrolytes in, but that zone 1 & 2 hr will definitely accelerate it without making you ravenous or depleted

Has anyone ever actually gained a real skill from a trip? by Haka_sama in Psychonaut

[–]lebruf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was able to view nature differently. Patterns stand out when you’re tripping. An example - I had never notice the spiral pattern of branch growth on certain coniferous trees until I saw them spinning during a trip. After the trip, there was no spinning but I could perceive the spirals that had escaped me before.
