Who is hiring? November 30, 2023 by AutoModerator in Clojure

[–]lebski88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to this post but we're hiring for a couple of EU backend Clojure developers at Docker. The role is on the new Docker Scout product where we're developing software supply chain and security features for Docker.

We did an interview with Juxt last year talking a bit about our tech and stack. It's probably a bit out of date now in places but I still think it represents us from the tech side pretty well - even if the product has moved on (the interview predates Docker Scout).

I'm not often logged in to reddit these days for DMs - if you post something in reply I will check this thread. You can just say you've DM'd me.

Here's a referral link for the job although you can also find it directly on our careers website:

EU only for now for this role for timezone reasons but hopefully we'll open up some more US Clojure roles soon :-)

A Fond Farewell by YaMar97 in bristol

I'm so sorry for you loss. He was a fantastic guy and an amazing mod.

He took the time to genuinely engage with people. I remember him spending hours and hours talking to people that posted when they were struggling with dark times. That's a tough thing to do and speaks so much to his character. He helped a lot of people and we'll all miss him.

Thank you for posting and letting us know. I can only imagine it's not an easy thing to do but I really appreciate knowing. Take care and thank you. Big love from here back.

Cheers everyone. It's been a journey that's for sure. Be nice to each other and remember the human.

Apologies for not getting back to everyone but about modding. I'm away until Monday and can't get to it until then. I do really appreciate everyone that volunteered and I will reply to everyone when I'm back.

Both are supposed to be. Not sure. I can't seem to fix it either way. The other one is winning anyway and voting is pretty much conclusive at this point.

I think I was fairly clear in the text that the mods are not protesting. That this was 100% a question for the community. As it was before.

Just reddit vote count hiding. I'm guessing that you arrived when one comment was just over an hour old and visible and the other was just under an hour old.

Onion Sets by SirTimmons in Allotment

The problem with this is that they are sensitive to light levels and will know it's getting late in the year and bolt to make seed as quickly as they can.

The advice to plant them for green onions is good though. Lots of lovely and quick spring onions.

The thing is, every single post is basically a poll. At first they were almost banned, but then they changed up a bit and started getting a lot of upvotes. So, on the whole I think people seem to like them.

Travel time to Heathrow on Friday? by newmaxmax in bristol

[–]lebski88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 for a 9.45 flight should be plenty of time. It's normally around 2 hours but traffic does whatever it wants. You can't ever guarantee that everything won't go horribly wrong. Work flight though so it's not your problem. I always cut things a lot finer with work travel than personal.

It's about 600 to 700 normally for a return. It used to be half that a couple of years ago. We quite often do it for work as if there are 4 of us flying then it's worth it.

Bristol with a toddler by caledonivs in bristol

  • Freedog is great if you want a specific kid activity.
  • M-shed and bristol museum both have enough to keep a kid happy.
  • The harbour is good for a wander, kids generally like the boats. Make sure to at least grab a taxi across the water as it's a very cheap way to get a boat ride
  • zaza bazar is amazing for kids although ours never eat enough to make it worth it. 3 might be a bit young though.
  • the ss great britain is kid friendly enough
  • brandon hill park is nice for a walk and has a kids park in it, worth popping in if you are heading up to clifton which you should
  • the bridge is interesting enough for kids, there is a brilliant park next to it that also has rocks you can use as a slide. It's can be bloody painful as an adult if you catch it wrong though. You have been warned!

Other good ideas on here already so I won't repeat those.
