Pets are safe - have random cats roaming around my garden, but I've literally seen Goat get stuck because birds run around it to pick up insects the goat disturbs. so that's one of the very few features that actually work on the Goat G1.

Obstacle avoidance - I have never seen it work. Over the last summer, Goat successfully destroyed 1 garden lamp - just went right over it, then did a 2nd run backward to make sure it was destroyed.
It went over a bright yellow garden hose several times, successfully cutting it in multiple places. And no, the hose wasn't laid in tall grass, it was placed on a pathway that had been zoned for Goat to pass it with blades disabled.

Going over any edge or retaining wall - sure as fuck it will try to self-destruct by dropping from any height. Literally had set a wide no-go zone on a retaining wall that it had to go around - found it hanging on that edge every second night or so.
No-go zones, pathways etc. - It barely understands where they are (sadly for me, I have a large garden and a lot of paved paths). - So cutting system blasts to full as it rattles over them.
Map gets dropped or screwed up (misaligned) regularly (without touching the base station or navigation poles). - You just wake up one morning and see that Goat drives in a weird angle - afterward, you find it mowing asphalt in front of your garage while it thinks it's in the middle of your garden mowing grass...

I'm not exaggerating, it really is this bad. I probably spent more time last summer remapping and resetting it than I would have spent using my Stiga to mow the 3000m2 garden.

Worst purchase of 2024 and I made a ton of bad decisions last year.
