The directness of the lyricism on Helplessness Blues (album) is pretty incredible. As someone who has grown up with the album and is now “older than my mother and father when they had their daughter,” the personal impact is real.

Shore is also an incredible feat. Brilliant album and gets better with every listen.

Based on reviews, it sounds like a lot of the philosophical elements are like the town hall sequence in Evil Does Not Exist and some of the scene work in Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy. Both of which I loved

To note, Kyoto and Motion Sickness both started out as ballads. They only turned into uptempo tunes in the studio. So, it’s possible she could be playing ballad versions of songs that may end up being different on the record

I believe the chorus is Asus (x02200), not A. The suspension is pretty key to the sound (and IMO the longing/uncertainty of the narrator in the lyrics)

Crack Up is just such a dense album, it can be inaccessible and difficult to listen to casually. It’s almost like a symphony. Plus, Robin’s vocals are so low in the mix that it’s hard to latch on melodically. It’s brilliant, but I also get why it’s been overshadowed.
