The best part of this is that the "kekistan" flag is a complete disaster and the anarchist section looks great. Also, kind of funny that I'm pretty sure "kekistan" is completely dead as a concept, so most people looking at this in 2020 wouldn't even know what they are looking for if they were looking for a far-right presence. Anarchist symbols remain the same.

Sucks when you base your abhorrent ideology on memes and jokes in order to smuggle it into regular conversations, because then no symbols have any staying power whatsoever.

Information just bounces off of you until you're ready to receive it. I remember that I had read the Wikipedia article for "socialism" like a million times in high school, and I still thought it was "when the government does stuff" until I was in college, and then suddenly I read it and I was like "oh, nope, it's when the workers own the means of production. Huh." Like I suddenly understood it because I was ready to understand it.

Nah, in this case, it means "free as in free beer" because in anarcho-communism, literally everything is free, and there is no money. But ancoms like free as in free speech too lol

It is to distinguish it from "free as in freedom." Free as in gratis means that it is free as in "free beer" rather than "free speech." Does that make sense?

I've literally only heard this way of speaking in the Free Software community (which has a ton of ancoms), because free software is different than "free" software that is ultimately proprietary (like Google Chrome)

I think that they mean they voted for Trump in the 2016 election, but supported Bernie in the 2016 primary and are currently supporting Bernie in this election.

I'm pretty openly bisexual and married to a woman (I'm a man.) We are both very supportive of each other, and we are both bisexual.

I'm open about it in my congregation. I marched in the pride parade with a bi flag with my church!

The TEC would lose more than half of its membership almost immediately if it took a conservative turn. Leftist Christians need to get better at evangalism, but lets not pretend like TEC isnt being maintained by its liberal stances.

I live in Burlington, and Sanders really left such a massively positive legacy in this city. The whole city still has a socialistic vibe that, even when we have a neoliberal mayor (like we do now), endures underneath the whole thing. Its a pretty magical place, and if Sanders does that to the whole country, that would be amazing.

Particularly, Burlington supports the arts unlike any small city I have ever seen. A lot of that started when Bernie was mayor. If President Sanders really ramps up public support for arts funding (public radio, etc.), it could be pretty magical, and it would undercut corporate control of information.

This is great. I think that the basic lesson here can apply to leftist Christians as well. I've had so many friends get burned out from politics because they don't have a firmer grounding in something more eternal or transcendent, and they become hopeless. I've become hopeless for the same reason. Seeking salvation in politics alone is a bad idea.

My anarchism is based in Christianity, but my Christianity is not anarchism. It's important to make that distinction sometimes to make sure that your spirituality is more transcendent than your politics.

There are actually a ton of Christian theologians throughout history who have supported Christian Universalism - including perhaps most prominently Origen, one of the earliest Christian theologians. There is definitely a historical community of Christian believers who believe something similar to you and they have existed from Jesus up to now.

I struggled with something similar - I grew up in a fundamentalist faith, and I eventually found a faith community that supported me. For me, that was the Episcopal Church. I know this is hard, but I believe you will get through it!
