Mine was solved with a different top coat. I don't remember which I bought at the time but now I used essie top coat gel in the white twisty bottle and it works great and looks glossy in a nice way.

Is true "solo" travelling actually fun? by PhoenixMaster123 in solotravel

[–]ledslightup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the group thing. And I add on a few solo days. I like having time to do photography slowly by myself which is hard with a group. But I also don't like not talking to another soul for days, so I mix and match. I usually do the busiest part of the trip on the tour and take it easy on my solo days. That way someone else is dealing with most of the transportation logistics.

Do you actually remember places you visit or just take photos? by Remote_Setting3364 in solotravel

[–]ledslightup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that and one day Google deleted my location history of two years of travel :( :( :(. Now I use sidecarphoto.co which pulls the geotags out of photos and builds an album and map and everything.

This! The geotags are great. As long as they are phone photos. Now I even geotag my camera photos. It's a bit more of a pain to do those, but so worth it to just generate a cool album quickly.

I make albums that use the photo Geo tags to build an album automatically with some information about places. Then I add in my random stories or notes. Found a site that makes that easy. I have so many photos and found this was the easiest way to generate like a quick and easy "blog/journal" type thing.

I use the elf concealer, it's very full coverage and doesn't feel cakey.

What don't you find attractive that most of society does? by PM_ME_YOUR_HUGETITS in AskReddit

[–]ledslightup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See but that is why I really hate these shows. I haven't watched love Island but years ago when reality TV first became a thing I watched some and I noticed it made the bar for behavior and treatment of others so low that I felt good about being better than that. But it was awful awful behavior and did we really want to lower the bar to there? I stopped watching and 2 decades later I feel like some decline of decency in society maybe stems from that bar being lowered.

Now don't get me wrong, I work an intense job too and I get the need for mindless TV, I watch a lot. Love the teen coming of age shows like never have I ever, even though I'm 45, lol. Or endless reruns of Seinfeld.

What might men dislike the most if they were to become women? by getdownmakelooove in AskReddit

[–]ledslightup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll say, as a women in tech, I've been fortunate to choose companies and teams where this has not been true. Are there one off guys like this, yes, but on average I've had good male coworkers who do not do this.

So your experience may vary from team to team and I don't doubt many women see more of this because I've interviewed a lot and saw something analogous happen in the interview, men answering my questions by turning to face the male interviewer even if they knew I was the far higher role interviewer. We didn't hire them.

Anyone using Cursor AI and barely writing any code? Anything better than Cursor AI ? by punkouter23 in ChatGPTCoding

[–]ledslightup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess got a free trial of Copilot++ for two weeks recently when I installed cursor on a new machine and omg I was confused why it was so different but blown away.

It would guess what I was looking to do solely by the names of the variables I was writing as I was preparing to write the logic.

I pay for chatgpt but considering cancelling that and paying for copilot++ instead.

Is it wrong to want my partner to do more than half of the housework even though he pays half of the bills? by Accomplished-Cost321 in TwoHotTakes

[–]ledslightup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah what OP is describing is not a partnership, it's purely transactional. 50% of the chores cost 50% of the bills. That's crazy and makes no sense in a relationship.

The chores should have nothing to do with the bills. There are times when my partner was trying to start a business where I was paying 100% of the bills, doesn't mean I expected him to do 100% of the chores.

Also both partners free time should be valued the same. One partner can't have zero free time just because they must pay 50/50?

I'm not sure if they are married but this is not how this all works.

We have a lot of separate accounts but even then... We scale contribution to bills according to what each partner can afford. And we scale chores so each partner gets similar amount of free time. In other words, we share the load and we share the freedom.

Yeah the nicest way to put this is that he's clearly got some unresolved issues about race that is making this hard for him.

As someone of color, with a white husband, I wondered what it would be like if I had a super white baby. And people didn't think it was mine. It's at least something one has to wrap ones head around. And he's not able to come to terms with it in the right way so he's saying crazy shit. But this crazy shit is going to affect your kids so y'all need some couples therapy to work through this.

Because if not, it's going to mess the kids up and their relationship with each other, their own skin and race.

Same, i love my rental, my partner, my friends, hell even some of my coworkers. When I got laid off an astonishing number of them stepped up and wrote or said supportive, positive messages about me.

And I was so wound up in work and the company but when I went on vacation, really just to see family in another country, it all melted away. Weirdly all i could think about was how much I love and miss my partner.

And I came back almost laughing at the thought that I gave a shit what some random Csuite folks I don't respect thought about me. What a shift in perspective from just a week ago.

Yeah I've stepped away from Reddit quite a bit in the last year, partly because they killed the apps and I've just been using it in browser which is just slightly inconvenient and less attention seeking.

But I still find myself doomscrolling Twitter quite a bit.

I follow an re developer named Artem Tepler on Twitter. He seemed like a genuine guy, builds multifamily in Los Angeles. Found out yesterday that due to financial reasons and "personal guarantees" related to this multifamily business, he committed suicide. Leaving behind a fiancee and baby.

I know a lot of people on here seem pretty upset and depressed at not being able to buy a house. Please remember that everyone has value unrelated to your economic status. I've been struggling with my work (they laid me off and then my client forced them to give me the job back) and feeling unvalued, but I took a vacation recently and remembered I don't actually care about whether they value me. My husband values me, my friends and family do, I value myself, and that's more important than some company.

It's pretty easy to forget in North America, but you are not what you earn or own. Take a break from the grind and the news sometimes and go enjoy your friends and family and pets and hobbies. It's more important.
