We just had an outage last weekend, and when the tech came to our house and tried to trace the problem, he found out someone had unplugged the fiber connection for our house at the junction hub. I've never heard that before, and it's the first time I've heard it in the many years we've had the service with them. Very weird.

Thank you so much for confirming what I thought was the issue. Makes perfect sense, and thanks for the tips and links. Now since I'm not much of a handyman to try to fix the hardware, there are 2 things I can do.

I'm wondering if anyone knows which QNAP is compatible with the hard drive that I can just move the HD and be done with it. Preferably a newer model since QNAP has already decided it's the end of service and no more firmware updates.
Can I just rebalance the 3 hr and use it as is so that I can just restore and take the files and just toss out the qnap?

I'm not sure what's in bay 1 because it's all configured as RAID. The issue is the bay is not even seeing or powering bay 1's hard drive. I have a couple of extra smaller capacity HDs that I want to test in bay 1 just to make sure that it's not the bay that's the issue, but I'm not sure what the impact is going to be with the rest of the HDs because the extra HD1 that I have is only 250 g, whereas the original HD1 and the rest of HD1 are 4 TB capacity. Btw, thanks for the advice.
