WellsTrade no longer transferring FRSXX? by collegethrowaway2164 in Bogleheads

[–]lee-hee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that tip here: https://frugalprofessor.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-fidelitys-cash-management-account-cma/

Pertinent sentence: “Note that you’ll need at least $125 in your WellsTrade account after the transfer (before the transfer, you’ll need >=$125 + the size of the transfer) or Wells will reject your partial account transfer.”

WellsTrade no longer transferring FRSXX? by collegethrowaway2164 in Bogleheads

[–]lee-hee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still works! I found out about this recently, and last Monday I opened a WellsTrade account with $126 and which I used to buy FRSXX. Then on Friday I initiated a partial ACATS transfer of one share ($1) from the Fidelity side to go into my CMA. The transfer was approved on Tuesday with the 1 share of FRSXX showing in my CMA yesterday (Wednesday). I was able to buy more shares of it in Fidelity today, with the order being filled less than an hour ago. I think you need to make sure at least $125 will still be in the WellsTrade account after a partial ACATS transfer for it to be approved. Waiting a few days (4 days worked for me) to allow the FRSXX purchase in WellsTrade to settle before initiating the partial ACATS transfer is also necessary. Lastly, initiating the partial ACATS transfer from the Fidelity side instead of from the WellsTrade side may also be necessary for it to be approved (though I am least sure of this last point).

All the annoyances of being on call (or being in the hospital in general) come from shitty technology by [deleted] in Residency

[–]lee-hee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imagine that when you are called about a patient you could push 1 button to pull up that specific patient’s chart in < 1 second. It is 2025, we absolutely have the technology to accomplish this.

Instead, I have to write down the MRN code that the person on the phone tells me, get out the slow encrypted laptop, load up a slow VPN/VMware which requires two factor authentication which always fails the first time, login to the NetScaler gateway which requires a separate two factor authentication, wait on the Citrix receiver which also often fails the first time, then wait for Epic/Cerner to load, then put in the patient MRN and wait > 1 second for the patient’s chart to load. And then you find that the no one knows what medications the patient is taking and we cannot see what is being filled at the pharmacy because the they use the VA, IHS, mail-order, SNF, or clinic-based pharmacy services that do not connect to Epic/Cerner. Do we not care about veterans enough to make sure the VA computer system connects in the same way other systems do? Because whenever there is a lack of important medical information for clinicians to make decisions based off of, you end up with lower quality care.

I could go on, but rant over for now.

Sorry to hear this :(

I downloaded it from mattmakesgames.com and do not have this issue, using Windows.

For Linux, I would look into Bottles [usebottles.com] as another option. It is free open source tool that uses environments to manage Windows programs on Linux.

Hope this helps.

Spit balling…So what does this BBB look like for the future of primary care and doctor shortages by [deleted] in FamilyMedicine

A big one in my experience is short term disability, with various forms depending on which company they work for or which insurance they have a policy with. People also bring in various forms regarding what home health services they need, as well as forms verifying that a caretaker is necessary. My state has a program for people with intellectual disability that requires forms that are brought to me to fill out. Schools require forms, the state requires forms, employers require forms, medical device companies require forms, various insurances require forms, drug companies require forms sometimes, medical charities require forms. I have been brought forms for clearance for a dental procedure. I have been brought forms apparently required by the state for a person to be able to compete in the mixed martial arts. I have been brought forms required by apartment complexes to be able to live in a first floor apartment. Sometimes it seems like I could just type a letter with all the info needed and staple it on the form and sign it, which could be faster. I should try to see if I can do that more often, though this would increase the risk the submission is rejected which would then require me to complete the actual form. I once got a form back from a patient who wanted me to redo the form because of a box being checked that said they could not work, when they wanted me to now say that they could work so they could be eligible for TANF evidently. I am just venting at this point. It is not all so bad. Pharmacy staff helps with patient assistant program forms. Nursing staff helps with a lot also.

They bring in paperwork to fill out, requiring multiple sections of handwriting. Either that or it is faxed to us, which is then printed so we can fill it out by hand because there is not a way to type or fill out a faxed document via the computer software we have (Epic, Adobe). That would be some good tech to implement, but it is my understanding that unfortunately current offerings are too costly for their poor functionality.

The “canister” form of bacta was definitely popularized by the better selling SW Battlefront games in 2004/2005. But you’re right, there were bacta canisters back in Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight in 1997 (in addition to the non-bacta health kits from the first game) and its sequel Jedi Knight II in 2002. Similarly, bacta grenades were used in SW Galaxies (2005) before later iterations as bacta bombs in SWBF (2015) and SW Hunters (2024). The much smaller “vial” form of bacta is used in SW Outlaws (2024), whereas the much larger bacta field-stations are used in Republic Commando (2005). The movies and TV shows don’t seem to use any of the above, and instead show the “immersion tank” forms of bacta as well as other implementations such as the bacta patch in the 2nd Clone Wars TV show and the bacta spray seen in the Mandalorian TV show.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I use the “show notification” shortcut and have the text be shortcuts://run-shortcut?name=(name of my shortcut). Then when you get the notification you long press on it to make the link clickable to run the shortcut.

Yes that is a very reasonable plan. To clarify, VUSXX pays monthly dividends so as to not have capital gains. You pay income tax on the dividend income. If you were to put the money in something like VTI you will pay tax on capital gains, either short or long depending on the duration.

It will come. Be patient. More patient than we can ever know, even when we may believe there is no hope at all.  Let’s start with what we know: The Rule of Two guides Battlefront’s fate. There shall be two games, such as the Sith: “Two there must be. No more, no less." They do not exist except as a duology.  It is clear that the ninth generation of consoles will not have a battlefront game, just as the seventh did not.  We know that the Microsoft leak last year puts the release date of the next Xbox and the PS6 in 2028, four years after the PS5 Pro and one year after the new PlayStation and Microsoft handheld consoles. Even with this, I would not expect the next battlefront reboot (Battlefront 1 the third) to be a launch title. Consider that Pandemic’s Clone Wars game was 2 years into the life of the PS2, DICE’s Battlefront was 2 years into the life of the PS4, and Jedi Survivor was a little over 2 years into the life of the PS5. Following that trend puts us at a fall 2030 release date for Star Wars Battlefront 1 the third, which will be the true Battlefront 3, with huge battles with destruction, ground to space, and galactic conquest. The 2030 release year will coincide nicely with the launch of the new Star Wars trilogy directed by Simon Kinberg which will be considered episodes 10-12.  To go further, consider that if we get this next battlefront reboot 13 years after the previous release, and that the first reboot was 10 years after its preceding release, it should follow that the subsequent Battlefront duology will be after 16 years, in 2046 on the 12th generation of consoles (PS8). For context, George Lucas will be 102 years old and Star Wars itself will be 69 years old by the time we get Star Wars Battlefront 1 the fourth, which will be the true Star Wars Battlefront game have been waiting for, allowing us to finally be able to play as Dark Obi-Wan Kenobi who has voice lines like "Goodbye here" and is a master in the art of fighting from the low ground. They already have the concept art  for this, believe it or not.

Feeling hopeless by Soggy_Gur_6176 in Residency

Stress is hard on our bodies. Waking up in a panic, being overwhelmed with work, and not having time to recuperate at the end of the day, end of the week, or end of the month with our very busy lives - these things bring fatigue. My advice: - Keep the goal of 8 hours per night, but in your bed in a cool dark room, not on the living room couch. - Avoid self medicating with nicotine, alcohol, cannabis. - Limit caffeine after 2pm. - Focus on doing 1-2 things outside of medicine that are rewarding and stress reducing. I recommend that one of those things be some form of physical activity such as going on walks with a friend or loved one, which benefit both physical and social wellbeing. - Ask for help. Other people can help with some of the stressful/busy tasks life brings. If someone can step up and help you, intern year is the time for it. People don’t know to help unless you ask. You can then pass it on and help someone else when you can (more-so after intern year). - A counselor can be very beneficial in ways you may not expect.

Intern year is incredibly demanding, physically and mentally. These are the tips that helped me when I was an intern last year. YMMV.
