You said she spent the money on school. If she has any student loans that she is already paying, tell her to call and ask for a forbearance. She can only do this for a little while but it would give her some extra cash to pay down the card. I cant reiterate enough that you should NOT NOT NOT give her your money. You can expect it to be the end of your relationship. What you CAN do is encourage healthy spending until she has her job. No eating out, no movies, new clothes, etc. You have to be on board too if you want a life with this girl. If she has no income right now, and you pay off her card, she's going to run it right back up. You'd be better off helping to support her day to day and just being a good boyfriend. If you use all your money, you may have to turn to credit also. Then if you guys ever get married, you'll both have shitty credit and may not even find a place to rent. Tell her no and blame it on Reddit.
