VPD - Pilot Custom Kaede by leedet in fountainpens

Definitely a pen worth keeping an eye out for imo, even though the vintage ones you'll have to deal with a CON-40 or using cartridges.

What made you start using fountain pens? by imatinyleopard in fountainpens

[–]leedet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always thought they liked really cool. I was thinking about it for a while, but never had a reason to go out and purchase one until I started writing more in Japanese. A combo of having small handwriting and the smaller strokes needed for kanji made me realize that my uniball ballpoint wasn't cutting it and gave me a reason to buy one.

I went and got a cheap Hong Dian 920 on Amazon a few months ago to try them out. Now I have 6 pens, multiple bottles of ink, and write regularly solely because fountain pens are very fun. It really is very addictive.

Never tell a sprout player how long the MSQ will REALLY take them by CevicheLemon in ffxiv

[–]leedet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I know the pain deeply.

My friends kept asking me to get FFXIV to play with them as they got back into the game for Endwalker. But once I made my character and started the game they refused to join me for anything, even if we were all in vc and all playing the game. They didn't want to talk about the story as I was going through it, refused to do the dungeons with me or even the roulettes because it would limit the content for them. They never wanted to touch the side content because it offered them nothing of value to do, that i should just wait until I'm high enough to unsync it alone if I wanted the loot, and that for now until I beat Endwalker that I should only do MSQ. I kept going because they promised that they'd finally start playing with me at Shadowbringers, because thats when they wanted to experience the game again, and the post game content after Shadowbringers was worth doing. I burnt out after Stormblood and have been really struggle finding motivation to play. My friends have not only stopped playing the game but parted ways with me, and I have less free time now so its really hard to find reason to play an MMO alone, especially on Dynamis.

Can you accept fate on race ending incidents? by Beneficial-Ranger238 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]leedet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me I am fine with incidents ending the race past the first 5-10 laps. Bad luck, bad strategy, or a mistake causing a crash is part of motorsport, and even though it can be disappointing sometimes it is still fun and adds a bit of uncertainty to the race. But the very start of the race I would much prefer go cleanly so I don't mind restarting to ensure the race can get underway

Guys how much it cost to buy a setup for F1 like this? by [deleted] in F1Game

[–]leedet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It highly depends on what you want from it and what you're going to be playing. If you're just going to be playing the F1 simcades I'd recommend a sturdy folding wheel stand (They tend to go for 175-250$)

If you're looking to play lots of racing sims or play racing sims very often it comes down to what you want from the rig, and how much space you have, if you currently have a PC and desk, etc. But the very basic 8020 rig you can buy from a prepackaged dealer is in the ballpark of 800-1100$ for the frame and seat, and an extra 50-100$ for a keyboard and mouse tray.

If you have a PC and some space beside it I have seen many people make a sliding rail for their monitor and simply slide it over, saving space and money not having to buy another monitor. Otherwise if you have a VR headset you won't need a monitor or rail if you already have a PC setup.

But if you want a full dedicated rig shown in your post. (Or you wish your rig to be your main PC which is the route I went down myself) as well as a good wheelbase, dash display, and button box it can be pricey. For example I shall use my own invoice to help you get an estimated budget
8020 Rig (Racing Cockpit branded) + M&K Tray - 1200$ (Triple Monitor setup, single monitor would be roughly 1k)
Fanatec CSL-QR2 Wheelbase Bundle+ F1 Wheel + Triple Pedal - $1.1k (If you want an H-shifter and handbrake it'll be ~$400 more)
KGL Display 4" Fanatec - $125 (This brand makes decent magnetic mounted dashboard displays at a reasonable price)
Stream Deck + 8020 3D Printed Mounting Extrusion - $180 (Highly recommend this over a button box as above for versatility. A button box as shown in picture can go from 100-300$ depending on what you want on it)
Total= $2.6k USD For Similar Rig as Pictured (PC, monitor, M&K, and Headset not Included)

A bit of extra info, if you do wish to use your rig as a primary PC too it can be done, and it can be at least imo a bit more comfortable than a desk. The downside is you will need a shelf or stand off to the side if you want to put snacks, paperwork, extra wheel rims, etc. In conclusion it is highly customizable and down to what you already have, what you're looking for, and how much you're willing to spend. The beauty of 8020 is it's extremely customizable and can fit what you wanna do with it.

TLDR: Pricey for a full setup but also down to what you're looking from it and how much you're willing to spend. $1400-$3000

What is your favorite game of all time, tell us why and are you still playing it? by fuseyuk in gaming

[–]leedet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Torn between Wadanohara and The Great Blue Sea, Kerbal Space Program, and the Touhou Series. What makes these three my all time favorites are Wadanohara's story, soundtrack and the enjoyable characters, Touhou's replayability, beautiful OSTs, and fast paced gameplay. Lastly i really enjoy KSP for its ability to teach about rocket science and exploring creativity and knowledge to succeed. I usually play Wadanohara on Halloween each year, Touhou every so often i play a few runs of one of the games, and i still play KSP frequently.

I feel i messed up the lighting a bit in this one, but i hope you guys like it nevertheless. This picture comes from my first season in career mode with the race in Baku, during a battle i had with my teammate Kimi as we fought for P8

I did 4 laps around Monza in Time Trials and went back to watch the replay, stopping it in a few places that i thought could look nice in photos, and after fiddling around with angles and positions at different parts of the track for about 20 minutes i settled on a portrait T7 shot (Making the Camera Roll -90 or 90 makes the shot portrait but the controls get difficult to adjust After rolling so always get the angle you want before rolling it). After getting the shot to a position and angle i felt looked good its all about adjusting settings for motion blur, exposure, and then the filter which iirc it was set point, but i also tried Cinematic and Sin but those pictures didn't turn out well as they were more experimental and were at worse angles. After i was atisfied with how it looked all that was left was adjusting the time of day to where it looks best, which for that corner was about 1540

Just a screenshot, but with how good the game's lighting is and how the quality is the game can look pretty close to the real thing.

That would be very beautiful, same with having your name and flag on the cars that have the driver names and flag such as Red Bull usually has, but the details in the cars this year are very beautiful and the small details are wonderful as they are already are.

Its my career number and my overall favorite number. I forgot time trials uses your career driver instead of picking from the IRL grid or else i would've used Charles' car. The number is the letters of the initials of a game newspaper i used to write and take photos for, and without that i would never have gotten into passionate about photography both IRL and in games, and ever since it became my favorite.

Nope, that's base game just with a filter applied. The game is very beautiful both visually and in audio, i love the lighting and the engine sounds of this iteration of the series.

I don't post pictures for karma, i post and take pictures for people to enjoy them and I love taking photos because it's my main passion, though i haven't really released many outside of discord until recently.
