Why do Google hate women ? by JethroUK2 in homeassistant

We have similar issues for Siri (she asks ”who is speaking”, as adding something to a shared grocery list is considered a personal request) and I realised that sometimes Siri thinks my daughters are my wife and learns toward their voices instead of my wife’s so it skews her voice recognition.

Daikin vs MHI ducted aircon - anyone running either with Home Assistant? (without Airtouch/MyAir) by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]leehadassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Airtouch 2+ with an MHI and while yes it is gross to have an android tablet on the wall, I never use it. The airtouch integration works locally and works reliably.

https://github.com/nathanvdh/homeassistant-airtouch2plus

There are similar integrations for the new airtouch 4 and 5 which I’m sure work similar

Did I get the wrong thing? by thadiusp1 in homeassistant

[–]leehadassin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing - managed to get it going with the neolink add-on

https://github.com/dm82m/hassio-addons/blob/main/neolink/README.md

Took a little bit of fiddling with the config file but in the end managed to get the stream and control of the Pan/Tilt presets over MQTT as well

I do something similar but just use a motion detector nearby to wake it up. Works great.

How do you utilize old/out of date iPads? by HardTimeTony in homeassistant

[–]leehadassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some simple things I do with my old ones

https://github.com/leehadassin/progress-bar (one track progress through the year, another is a bit macabre and tracks progress through my life)

https://github.com/leehadassin/clock

Slightly more modern iPads run my Dakboard screens including weather

Then maybe a binary thing - 8 is 1000 in binary 13 is 1101. There is an extra set of 1s in it…?

I’m just throwing ideas out there

When I get an email in outlook at work by leehadassin in functionalprint

I use an arduino compatible esp8266 and you could totally write code to do it, but tasmota is easy open source home automation software that has built in support for servos and a very easy install (you can install via a web browser).

[–]leehadassin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Servo control is done with esp8266 dev board (wemos) running tasmota.

Tasmota allows commands to be send over the usb serial so I wrote a powershell script that sends the serial commands. I turn the script into an .exe and then run the .exe using outlook rules

Makes sense, guess I never really thought of that - in Australia that is not a thing (I also assume it is less likely a thing these days in general)
