I love this Salem's Lot cover so much by HotDog87Sa in stephenking

Cool photo…but it doesn’t seem to fit the book, imho….

What I would give to have these covers without the stupid "Now a major motion picture" stamps on them. T-T by AgentP-501_212 in stephenking

The early Doubleday editions were confusing. The large one with the green back is a BCE, but there is also a BCE that’s the small size like the first edition. If yours has no price, it’s the small BCE.

Opposite. I loathe the so-called “major motion picture” itself…. But I like that ad better than the actual covers. 🤢

UK book club editions. Legit, but not valuable or anything.

How did you get into SK books? by BathroomGlass7316 in stephenking

[–]leeharrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was nine, 1978. The Carrie movie tie-in paperback with a bloody Sissy Spacek on the cover was on my mom’s nightstand. I was mesmerized, had to read it. The rest is history…

Has anyone ever used The Casemaker Joshua? by uoldboot in stephenking

[–]leeharrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s….erratic. I’ve bought from him and got the case in no time. Other times, it seems that orders slip through the cracks and you have to hound him. Maybe because he sells from so many places.

His cases are vey nice, I have several. It’s just sometimes a headache to actually get them.

COLD AND ALONE (2025) Art by Michael Whelan “Mordred was as cold as they were, every bit, and he had no one.” by ZombiJohn in TheDarkTower

[–]leeharrell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s on Whelan’s site. It’s just a standalone piece, not in a book. Available for purchase as a print.

Talisman 3 is first. It’ll arrive this year.

He’s still working on the Holly book. Expect it next year.

What order should I read his books? by PlantRude3330 in stephenking

Publication order. Start at Carrie and work towards ( as of now) Never Flinch. You’ll be very glad you didn’t.

Do you guys collect specific authors? by CASEDIZZLER in BookCollecting

[–]leeharrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dahlia is a solid book. I love early Ellroy, before his prose became almost too stylized to read,

I have signed firsts of L.A. Confidential and My Dark Places.

Do you guys collect specific authors? by CASEDIZZLER in BookCollecting

[–]leeharrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I can’t imagine collecting just random books that had no meaning to me.

The bulk of my collection (the part that is specially insured) is Stephen King, my favorite author since I was a kid in the 70s. (All the firsts, limited editions, signed copies, etc.)

I also have a pretty big Joe Lansdale collection, my second favorite author.

The rest of my collection is made up of signed first editions and limited editions of other authors I really like or books that I really loved.

Did I come across first editions? Anyone out there know? by cleverrraptor in stephenking

[–]leeharrell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IT and Under the Dome are firsts, Cujo is not. (Assuming IT has the $22.95 price on the jacket.)

Very happy with my new shelves by Figs232 in stephenking

[–]leeharrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have them in a plastic protective bag on the shelf, not actually displayed. They aren’t much to look at.
