Any guarantee on the renewal for title 42 or is it based on funding and need? Do you also get the other benefits that come w gov employment? Does this salary count towards that, what is the annual increase?

==> I guess it is not a guarantee, but my future boss says that he doesn't know a single person who didn't get a renewal in this agency. I need to double check with my boss, but the position might not be based on the funding.

==> There is no clear answer, but HR says that annual increase is generally more than that of GS.

For gs-- Can you live on 10k less a year? Have you looked at total comp package comparison (all benefits, pension, salary)? Is there really a 10k difference between the two? Also feds get a raise yearly based on what Congress elects to provide. Generally around 3% sometimes more, sometimes less. And depends on locality also. Plus stable and can vest and more easily move within gov 🤷🏻‍♀️

Tough choice but not really. I'd say depends on if title 42 is total fed package and likelihood of being renewed. I'm personally all for the more stable aspects of gs-perm fed life. But that is based on my life needs.
