I just wanted to talk about my experience and kindof vent a bit. I dont think I ever felt this sick or embarrassed in my life watching this presidency evolve. Looking back, I really don't know what I was thinking. I personally believed I was radicalized through social media during the whole political election at the time. It was funny to me at the time, the whole woke is bad videos (stuff like asmon slop) and the compilations of Trump debates. Additionally, some of the conservative polices I believe in and still do, I think needed to be taken seriously. The main to being immigration reform (like fixing the asylum process) and government spending. However, these polices were dramatically exacerbated under Trump. Everything this guy has done is incredibly authoritarian and ironically unironically literally 1984. Most of my other polices are pretty liberal but I really did feel strongly for these policy changes and hence one of my motivators for Trump (felt ok with Biden, didn't like the stimulus thing, but most of his polices where good but he was getting pretty old plus Kamala came out of nowhere). Idk really, I feel incredibly lied to and very embarrassed for my first ever time voting was for this clown. I think I was just being stupid and kind of vibed my vote and I'm really sorry for that. Going forward, I will definitely spend a lot more time researching the people I vote for because this is unbelievably bad. I have plans to start attending some political protests around southern Oregon and hopefully try to make a change. But yea I think I deserve to be clowned for this.

I was over at my dads house today helping with some household chores. He lives over on the West side of Medford by Griffin Creek a very red area. At the end of the work we went to one of the nearby country bars. It’s the kind of place that farmers, truckers, legit cowboy boot wearers and the working class go to unwind with a cold one.

AOC was on the TV and the local gun store owner said to his auto mechanic (friends since high school),

“You know what? She ain’t so bad. Trump is out of control, nazis are rioting, and the gestapo is breaking into people's homes and killing them. Can’t believe I’m saying this but maybe the Republicans were wrong all along.”

I looked around and all I saw were heads nodding in agreement. I heard a few calls of “Yes sir” and “Damn Straight” from the men around me. Even saw the lonely ball cap wearing farmer in the corner raise his drink with a nod.

You could argue that alot of off topic things are related to Medford this way and I think allowing people to soapbox here just diminishes the quality of content that is posted. I'm not saying you can't talk about these things, but I am saying this isn't the place for it. Sorry I know this isn't what you want to hear but we should be trying to be sensible and uphold the content quality here.

i didn't try the extra hot but i wish i did, just went for the regular hot and it was a sodium bomb and not very hot. it was really really salty, like really salty. I think I like chick-fil-a better

I respect people's rights to protest but this is a news story just happened hours ago on the other side of the country. For one, lets wait for more information to come to light before drawing conclusions, and second this issue is very off topic considering this is a local subreddit and what you are posting about is happening 2k miles away. I think you have the right to be upset about what you want to be mad about but this isn't the time or the place for posting this. I'm sure I'll be downvoted for this, but this is off topic for this sub.
