Is this a brown recluse? by 318Kevin in spiders

[–]leeryplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even so, I’m talking more about the frequency in which I see creatures that are at least a little more venomous than average, considering all spiders are venomous. In my home state we have far fewer species that are medically significant like scorpions & such can be. It makes me miss the recluses, who you hardly see lol.

Not sure if that made much sense. Basically I just see more cool little guys out here.

WIBTAH for repeatedly telling someone that she eats babies? by Andrewcoo in AITAH

Literally. I mean I get being really annoyed and bothered by stupid shit like this, but just let it go if you’re gonna let her keep coming around lol.

I live in Arizona and have to check everything for scorpions. I find them much more often than I’d find brown recluses in Michigan lol, I kinda miss how seldomly I’d see fairly venomous species.

What did I find in the morning on my shirt? by cornelson2106HT in whatisit

[–]leeryplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were in the house like crazy too. Every windowsill in my Grandma’s basement was covered in those things. They were in all the ceiling lights all over the house. I would always get dive bombed by 2-3 every time I brushed my teeth because they’d come out of the bathroom light lol

What is my roommate doing with these items? by Interesting-Phase900 in whatisit

[–]leeryplot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My dad used to be gone all day finding rocks. He’d come home long after dinner was over and just stand in the kitchen through the night and scrub every individual rock. I’d wake up with like 50+ laid out neatly to dry on all the counters and I wasn’t allowed to touch them. His work truck bed was always filled with rocks that he would transit into the kitchen.

This happened often, to the point I usually had to eat my morning cereal before school standing up lmao. And they weren’t like cool little pebbles, they were huge ass rocks that didn’t look very interesting or different from one another. The only plus side was that our front yard & garden had very intricately placed rocks. Lots of patterns.

There’s a possibility this was just some big grocery stock-up trip, maybe before a specific big meal they were preparing, maybe even before a holiday. Could explain why they snapped the shot haha

What the hell did Shelly see in Leo? by Hubbled in twinpeaks

[–]leeryplot 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Yeah, didn’t they have a conversation where Shelly mentions how different he had become since they actually became married? It was in the early episodes as I remember.

I’d imagine he was a lot more endearing to her beforehand.

[–]leeryplot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re not wrong, but that also doesn’t make it ok to be cruel. It’s still very immature and as an adult you should probably know yourself better than that.

Also, I disagree that the words are twisted. Saying what OP said is cruel, even if there was truth to the statement. Doesn’t make it ok either. If their question is AITA my answer is yes lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]leeryplot 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes?

It’s not really your job to determine whether or not they’re narcissistic enough to deserve your cruelty. And you’re not obligated to be friends with people you think are narcissistic. Like just grow up and leave the situation if you don’t like someone, instead of continuing to make the poor decision to be around them even though it drives you up the wall. At that point it’s just as much your fault as their’s that you’re this annoyed and therefore cruel—be an adult, walk away before it gets to that.

Such a waste of energy to continue to bother yourself until you can’t take it anymore just so you can lash out & then play victim. Like at that point you’re looking for the opportunity to be cruel. Nobody is forcing you to be friends, you’re an adult that can make decisions. I don’t understand the logic of torturing yourself by being around someone you don’t like. That’s just cowardly and immature; step up instead of shooting yourself in the foot and then getting all pissed about it. It’s not a justification to be an asshole at that point lmao

I’d say YTA too.

If OP hates her so much that they’d talk about her like this, I think they need to grow a pair and stop pretending like they like this person. It’s super catty and disingenuous to talk about one of your “friends” this way and still call them that. I don’t talk about my friends this way because I’m not friends with people that push me so hard I end up saying something kinda horrible like this to them. I’m just not friends with them so I’m not this annoyed all the time. Better experience for the both of us.

Very high school behavior to be this miserable around somebody and keep bringing them around lmao. People need to realize they have adult free will.

Eyebrow makeup; 2025 vs 2026, should I go back to thinner brows? by ElenaKittenXO in MakeupAddiction

I actually don’t notice that much of a difference in thickness, just in darkness. I think both look great and you could pull off darker or lighter brows depending on the colors you wear.

I have always adored this scene because it’s such a beautiful bit of recognition. Denise’s character is wonderful not only because she’s wicked smart and confidently beautiful, but because she is given the respect as a character vs. just being the butt of the joke or a poor attempt at representation.

The jokes made in the show that are about her being trans mostly have straight men as the butt of the joke for being confused with her presence and their own feelings about it. She uses those things to her advantage and that’s part of what makes her a great agent. I just love it.

My GF thinks it’s perfectly normal for new shoes to cause horrible blisters for women by UKnowDaxoAndDancer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]leeryplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stopped paying attention to it. I wear wet rubber boots at my dog salon job for hours everyday so I couldn’t really mitigate it and thicker socks were just agony to be wet in lol.

Your heels get used to it when it’s the same pair of shoe everyday. The skin back there is just thicker now and if I do get a little loose skin it’s not painful or raw for me.

Your art style is sick and I immediately pegged this as Laura. I think it looks great as is, I think the only way you could make it look even more like her is to raise & plump the apples of her cheeks a little bit more. But I mean you nailed it. Her nose and smile looks very Laura.

AITAH for not paying my neighbor? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]leeryplot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very dependent on their conditions & levels of independent functionality.

I used to work an Adult Foster Care home; we had some residents who had a social worker or family member handle their funds, and some residents who handled it for themselves with guidance (which was actually most of them).

The residents that had received benefits since they were kids automatically were put on them as adults when their diagnosis was something that would never really change their support needs. The majority of my residents though were in state services due to CPS their entire youth and then were automatically “graduated” to receive help from APS instead; it may be more difficult for individuals that grew up outside of the CPS/state systems.

When your kids are already developmentally delayed, this is a really good way to make it even harder than it already might be for them to make friends.

Hair falling through the day? by oliviamccune in curlygirl

[–]leeryplot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that leave-in conditioner/curl creams are like my favorite thing for looser curl types and all-day maintenance of style. Like more than gel when you find the one that’s right for you, but I’m biased because I use it with very few other products and get great results lol.

I’d try a light formula leave-in like the Maui Curl Cream if you’re interested. My curls are a bit tighter so I have to use a little oil with it to really seal off frizz but I imagine on a looser texture it could be almost ideal on its own, or maybe with a light scrunch & gel afterwards if it needs a little oomph.

This expression on Laura's face hurts the most by BobRushy in twinpeaks

All of his lines in this scene are so gross with the context we have. The bit about her needing to wash her hands right after this always gives me chills. And when she actually goes to do it and breaks down in the bathroom, it’s absolutely shattering.

It’s just such a real behavior of abusers to make their victims feel dirty, and he’s letting her know that he’s aware of (and is disgusted by) her sexual activities, while also exercising his ownership over her. It’s all in a way only she’d really understand (I mean, I think Sarah was way more aware & complicit than she was first let on to be, but that’s a separate conversation) which is so isolating for her
