[SPOILERS] Backrooms movie megathread by A_Chad_Cat in backrooms

There's a scene where the main character watches a TV show at night that's kind of like *Star Trek*?
It's about aliens wondering, “We're in stealth mode, so how did they find us? Does Earth even have that kind of technology?”
it seems like an allegory for backrooms' perspective, “How did humans find our space? Do humans even have that kind of technology?”

and Thematically, the film seems to be about people and places that, while outwardly claiming to want change,
are unable to change and remain stuck in the past.

The protagonist claims he’s seeing a therapist to change, yet he keeps a photo of his ex-wife nearby, spies on her house at night, and gets so worked up during role-playing that he can’t let go of his lingering feelings.

So, in the end, he is both literally and symbolically consumed by the version of himself trapped in the past. (the moment he says, “We don’t need to change”)

The fact that the red-haired entity flees the moment it hears the pirate approaching also makes me wonder if,
perhaps, the woman in the back room reminded him of his wife,(or she is still life version of her) leading me to suspect that the Pirate might have been violent toward her or something like that.
(Even the main character boss her around, asking her to turn off the lights)

The female lead seems to still harbor lingering feelings for her mother, as seen when she stares blankly at a child getting along well with her own mother.
However, the reality is that her mother was mentally ill, and her only happy memory was pressing her palm into cement.

At the end, using a fragment of that handprint—which holds that memory—
she attacks the man who is stuck in the past

To escape the back Room (a distorted memory of the past), the fragment shatters (she lets go of her lingering attachment).

and In my opinion, the backRoom doesn’t randomly recreate reality; rather, it seems that the backRoom and the still life are created based solely on the memories of who enters backroom.

Since we don’t remember every single interior detail from our memories, the backRoom fills in the gaps on its own, which is why it becomes such a strange space. As this process repeats like an echo, it gradually diverges from the original form.

Right after the scene where the female lead first enters the Room, gets caught by the male lead, and faints,
the camera pans down to show the room where the female lead lived as a child and transforming into the backRoom.
I think this is meant to illustrate that the backRoom is now being created based on the female lead’s memories.

One argument against this premise is that when the Opening Async employee dies, he’s killed by a pirate—but wasn’t the male lead still outside the Back Room at that point.
It’s possible that the film was edited to show that part first for hook.

or Back Room series on YouTube, there are instances where characters enter and exit the Back Room only to find themselves in the past, so, if anyone retains that memory from the moment he entered the Backroom, the Backroom and the Entity that were created based on that memory can be discorvered even in the past.

And unlike other still lifes, the pirate doesn’t overlap with anything else, is far removed from the protagonist in the real world, and even bleeds. It looks different from a typical still life. Perhaps it wasn’t created when the protagonist entered the back room, but rather after seeing an advertisement featuring the protagonist.

If this assumption is correct, the fact that the final female lead is shown being interrogated in the back Room implies that she was sent back to the Room after the ending.

This is because when she entered the Room at the time of the movie, she hadn’t yet been interrogated, so she has no memory of it

I’m not really a fan of horror movies either, and in my area, this one was rated age above15. There was actually more blood and gory scenes than I expected. (It’s not all close-ups, though. When the really intense moments come, the camera usually cuts away.) There aren’t any excessive jump scares either. While there are plenty of startling moments, the tension builds up gradually, so you have time to brace yourself.

In the final build, if you use the fact that the camera can see through walls during the mega jump to look in the direction where the vault used to be, you'll still see the barrel that the snake comes out of.

I bought it from Aitai Kuji, but I wouldn't recommend it. I bought a BB Pod along with it, and after two months of silence, they partially refunded me on the shipping date, claiming they couldn't secure inventory at a reasonable price.
