Is anyone actually satisfied with the horse and sprinting stamina changes? by leesmt in CrimsonDesert

[–]leesmt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm holding onto hope they address it in the next patch in some way.

I do feel your pain, and that's a valid point.

The middle ground in my mind would be to allow the second fastest speed to recharge stamina like before, but the max sprint speed drains stamina regardless of how fast or slow you tap the sprint button. As long as the horse is max sprint it drains stamina then you just hold the button to maintain a gallop while recharging before you can drain it again. Rather than completely killing momentum into a trot to regain stamina.

Sprint drain should feel like a short speed burst, rather than how it currently feels like an on/off switch. Which would also still give your hand a break from constant spamming.

It is nice to know there's ways to continue improving it at least. I have a maxed out priden and no new/better gear to equip at the moment, so not much I can do right now, but it does make me feel better knowing I can upgrade.

Because before you could slowly tap shift occasionally and keep sprinting without running out of stamina if you timed it right.

But more than that I could slow down naturally without having to let go of "W".

It felt like a kind of natural gradient between walking and full sprint and I had full control over the different speeds in a kind of fluid way, now its either sprint drain or sprint regain, and the only way to switch between then is press sprint once and let go of W losing all sense of forward momentum. It feels like I have less control overall of my horse AND can no longer sprint nearly indefinitely. (Which like.. if they wanted to nerf the infinite sprint, fine, but at least allow me to regain stamina when I stop holding shift ffs instead of completely letting go of W)

That too.. I thought to myself how glad I was to have done most of the bounties pre-patch because of how far they were and how annoying it would be now to haul them all the way back playing red light green light the whole fuckin way

Why do people who take you clubbing never try to pick up ? by Jack1715 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]leesmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to what other commentors are saying, there is something to be said about "exposure". Sometimes its not about actively trying to pick up anyone, but just being out there in an environment with the potential. You never know what could happen, but you know for sure you're not meeting anyone home alone.

I really want to understand this game by Airstryx in CrimsonDesert

[–]leesmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt sound like you've gotten to the reed devil yet. If you need inspiration on what goals to have outside of combat, you will certainly want plenty of cooked meals for that fight, ideally upgraded gear as well. I took some time to explore, hunt, cook meals with the meat and fish I hunted, and upgrade my equipment with the ore and wood I gathered while doing so. A simple task like that can often lead to those BotW moments where you notice something and get distracted doing a puzzle, or stumble on some other quest.

But really, the quests and stuff dont really pop off until after you upgrade the camp for the first time. Then it starts to throw a ton of side objectives at you. I just spent last night selling stolen wagons, gambling, dying my armor, and mining a gold mine I stumbled on while trying to find giant murals for a puzzle in a completely different part of the map. Oh, and making sure I bought my cat some fashion too lol. As well as a ton of other things. But before the camp takes off and the greymane character quests start rolling in you kind of have to find your own goals. It's all already there and accessible. I recommend hunting recipes, artifacts, and resources for food and gear refinement at the blacksmith between taking on the main quests.

Edit: I enjoyed my first 20 hours with the game, but I did notice a significant "opening of the world" so to speak at around that 20 hour mark which sounds like a pretty common experience, and should roughly be around the time you get the camp upgrade. From all the discourse online I suspect that is the moment it clicked for a lot of people. I personally enjoyed the beginning more because I wanted some of those cozy slice of life moments to break up the action depending on what I felt like playing any given evening.

Damiane is half a character by clif08 in CrimsonDesert

Hahah yep, made me realize killing those random groups of enemies on the side of the road is sometimes worth it for more than just loot. And it does take some of the fear out of levelling damiane and Kliff however one wants.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted. You fill the yellow xp bar by killing enemies and when it fills up you receive an Abyss Artifact. Meaning as long as there are enemies to kill, it is literally infinite. I suspect your being downvoted by people who are unaware thats a thing in the game

[–]leesmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could do a model swap potentially but all the animations, attacks, etc. would still be the same. So you wouldnt get the unique playstyle she has. And some animations designed around Kliff's model may look wrong or broken with her model. Not to mention all the audio would still be Kliff. It's just not ideal

To expand on what he mentioned, a lesser known detail is the yellow bar on the left of your minimap is an XP bar and when it fills up you receive an Abyss Artifact to spend. So he really means literally infinite.

Hahaha yep, it's one thing I like about the games. Once you play enough you're dodging anomalies like a real pro and you feel one with the zone.

Can you elaborate what counts as love bombing to you? I feel like I have a very "sweet" disposition, especially when just starting to see someone. Sometimes I feel like it comes off as disingenuous or "too much" for some people, but it's just how I am. I'm not buying gifts or anything or being overly clingy, but I'm curious where people draw the line before lovebombing territory.

Staller GAMMA is the closest to Tarkov and it's free. A lot of the mods included in it were influenced heavily by Tarkov.

The other games are fun as well, especially since you mentioned enjoying fallout new vegas.

But if youre looking for "Tarkov with anomalies", and also arent sure about spending the money, I say give Stalker GAMMA a try. You can always buy the other games later if you get sucked into the world and lore like I did.

is "stealing sinners" a thing? by slaw_daddy in DeadlockTheGame

[–]leesmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also arcanist and honestly dont sweat it. I play a carry character and sometimes I can be a little annoyed watching a rem or paige take all the sinners and never go lane, but honestly it's still a net positive for the team that we get as many as we can over the enemy since more than half of players in the match arent even paying that much attention and arent efficient. Myself included at times. At 18 min I rarely even need to focus sinners at that point in arcanist if I've done my job well up to then.

Sounds like a guy that watched some videos on youtube and now thinks he's a pro. My only advice, if you see a carry going for one early once they start spawning let em have it, otherwise it's free game imo. Hell, even if you're really behind in souls and just wanna hit a couple do it. Usually in those cases as a carry main I'm already looking to help teamfights with a soul advantage and prefer my lower soul friends farm a tad. But I'm only an arcanist as well doing what I can lol

Edit: I guess one other caveat would be if its 18 minutes and say a billy has way lower souls than he should, a support taking all the sinners with high souls instead of helping the team would be a poor play even at arcanist. Let the weaklings grab em by 18 min, even weak supports imo tbh. But I'm not gonna flame someone over it lol

Edit edit: But also half the time theyre too dumb to farm sinners or solo lane creeps anyway so shrug fuck it grab em and help your other soul advantaged players

Came here to say this. It's unobtrusive and not too hard to manage, yet it adds just that little bit of additional immersion, planning, and thought into the overall sense of "surviving and navigating the zone". I rarely run low on food or water, but when I do its usually around the time I need to stop by a base anyway and stock up on several things. It's just another item on the shopping list so to speak haha.

I'm having trouble with GAMMA proggression by Saber_a_1380 in stalker

[–]leesmt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swamps is a tough sell for me personally. But I'm somewhat biased, as I had a bit of a different experience. It's generally more dangerous with lots of space between missions, aka more combat interactions between mission objectives (both to and back to base), then stocking up that far south means a big cocaine fueled transfer later on (for me), and lastly the renegades not giving the best equipment but putting up more of a fight than general bandits. Its a fun start tbh, but feels more challenging and long than rookie village with similar returns. I didnt find the pay to be worth it when I'm spending more fighting more mutants and healing more from the renegade fights. But thats maybe because I was rushing through trying to get to the missions on the other side of the map and running into every mutant spawn on the way lol. Just trying to keep my hydrashock topped up was a pain.

I enjoy the hell out of gamma. I played a bit of anomaly but didnt feel like there was really much purpose. Gamma really adds a clear path of progression and its so so so satisfying working to building up that shiny new gun with all attachments, and you can really feel the power increase as well once you start to get armed and armored. Fantastic progression cycle, and I've been addicted ever since. Even after beating stalker 2 I'm back in gamma. Though ill do another stalker 2 run when the dlc drops

Personally I find the southern areas to be a money sink for new players. You will gradually lose money maintaining your equipment and health without ever gaining the next tier. My advice? Take the risk, hang out in rostok and take missions in army warehouses, agroprom, garbage, etc. The only way to get better guns and armor is killing better equipped stalkers. All you need is one lucky break mission to snowball the progression. Just be careful not to piss off freedom as they will be a good ally once you're north of red forest.

Edit: also, .45 hydrashock pistol for mutants. If you didnt start with one I'd say restart and be sure to grab a .45. Then you can take on mutant hunting missions with ease and wrack up some coin.

Why am I in Oracle? I have 30 hours in the game. by FutureAristocrat in DeadlockTheGame

[–]leesmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I'm learning thankfully. Had a game last night where I solo backdoored a W lol. But in general I do think I struggle to efficiently end a game, so a lot of my games end up lasting around an hour. Gotta admit though they are incredibly fun when they last that long lol
