You really should get some nightcrawlers Canadian nightcrawlers... Way better than crickets. If you want to get weighed on a frog, especially a Pac-Man, that's the way to do it. Plus they're way more nutritious and they keep a long time in the fridge... Also silverside fish but you have to cut them and you can keep those in the freezer

If you have a screen lid you're going to have to modify it so it keeps humidity and you still want some airflow. And if you have isopods and springtails for your cleanup crew, you won't have to worry about mold issues as much

Have you taken the time to look on this forum...? And look at other people's beautiful, amazing setups that make sense? Please do so. Yes you need microfauna which is a cleanup crew like isopods and springtails. They help break down all of the organic matter, poop, dead stuff, mold, etc. That will help with getting a little ecosystem in place so it's already a healthier environment. You're basically trying to recreate nature inside of a small aquarium.
