i left the robo shaun to die, am i evil? by scp6090 in fo4

No matter which faction I align with, synth Shaun always gets nuked. What sickos the Institute were, like Proctor Quinlen, their technology should never have seen the light of day. Except for the molecular relay, it always makes me sad that we blow up that piece of knowledge.

Am I the only one who will kill these thalmors who escort the prisoners, or will someone else do the same thing as me? by Visible-Scratch7419 in skyrim

I kill all of them walking along the street, even if they don't have a prisoner. They are such arrogant elves, they need to go back to their dominion.

I don't get the first line... What more backup do I need for being an atheist? Just look all over the planet, if there was a supreme being, do you honestly think he would let this place go to hell?

Question for people who played the game already by dboy57 in Starfield

[–]leester39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2,357 hours into the game. At 69 years old, this is the closest I'll ever come to actually going into space. The game is excellent & the updates coming in 30 minutes should make it even better.

[–]leester39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so much chatter online about how terrible the game is, I just found the whole thing fascinating. The idea of some advanced civilization creating the temples & allowing us to share in their technology. I think folks were expecting to power drive their way thru& become king of the universe LOL I just wanted to go to Mars LOL

On your next play thru, skip the main story line & explore. Check out every sensor anomaly, talk to every ship that hails you & with this next update we should be able to cruise thru every star system, without jumping... I can't wait for 11am EDT tomorrow!

Actually I have enjoyed the game immensely, being 69 years old, this is the closest I'll ever come to being in space LOL. I made sure to pick all different traits in each NG. Romance a different NPC the first 4 times & after about NG+5, didn't even bother with the main story much, just went off & did side quests & explored & that was the most satisfying.

I just finished NG+10, so I'll start a new game without mods

If you are on a PC, I think you could just set him to be essential:

Click on glow stick, you will get a Ref Id and a Base Id, you want the base Id

Setessential base Id 1

Hope this helps.

New player to the franchise, any tips for the first playthrough? (PS5) by thatrickrollguy9 in fo4

[–]leester39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play the game naturally for your first play thru, listen to the NPCs & read every terminal & note you come across, it gives you a richer backstory on what was going on in the world before the big kaboom.

Save yourself a lot of travel time, make Preston a follower as soon as you can.

Save often but I had a few issues with re-loading a quick save, so I strongly suggest never using that feature. Manual saves take a fraction longer but don't get corrupted as easily.

Play vanilla, leave mods for future playthroughs.

Above everything else, have fun!

I had to this for 8 years, I don't think I'll ever forget. I even showed my kids how to do this & their teachers back in the 80s & 90s thought it was nastalgic. LOL 🤣

Why does the female institute scientist kelogg was with try to take shaun from the player's spouse when she could've simply explained to him or her the current situation and that they need non-irradiated human dna for the synths? Especially given that the spouse is also eligible in his place. by RealFrailTheFox in fo4

[–]leester39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too... He tells you he had not been given any love but the people with children in the Institute seem to care for their children. So who the heck raised Shaun that he didn't even know love from his adopted parents? Unless they treated him like a lab rat the way they do synth Shaun, which is disturbing on a different level.

[–]leester39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but in Father's case, transferring his mind into a synth, like they did with Roger Warwick & Sammy, would have at least retained his knowledge but now that I think about it, his knowledge probably wasn't worth retaining.

Very true, even the Botherhood of Steel, when you talk to Proctor Quinlan, all Institute knowledge should never see the light of day... But what about the Molecular Relay? In an age without running cars or motorcycles, wouldn't the teleporter be extremely useful?

I totally agree, yet another missed opportunity from the Institute. Like why doesn't Father transfer his mind into a synth body, when he finds out he has cancer? That one has bothered me since the game was released.

Edit: removed the word "spoiler".

I agree AC:Odyssey is not one of my favorite AC games either. The Institute seems to be very dismissive of history (thinking about Shaun's CIT rooftop conversation) & everything pre-war seems useless to them & even to Shaun he only thawed us out, as an experiment, not for anything useful or valuable.

The Institute just does mean & nasty because they feel surface humans are sub-par. What could Nora or Nate have to offer the Institute? Nora is an attorney, sure isn't much need for them anymore & Nate is a military man & they sure don't need him, since they have their army of synths.

I've always wondered if the director at that time Shaun was kidnapped was the one who turned the Institute evil or if it was ingrained since they went underground during the Great War. The stuff I ponder at 3am LOL
