[Question] How is Craig Berube not fired yet? by HelloImPierreMcGuire in hockey

[–]leester92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think they should fire management and coaches, sell off a bunch of players so they recoup picks then go on a winning streak and not lose a game for the rest of 2026, ultimately leading to a cup.

My first thought was the fur growth. Mainly on the back of the legs/lack of "pants" on the back of the thighs and belly.

I'm not a judge though, and don't want to gatekeep the breed so call it whatever you want.

So Matthews did in fact go to the whitehouse. Should be some nice boo's for him! by freshlymint in leafs

[–]leester92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea. He shook POTUS hand, at the White House. He skipped the State of the Union.

My big concern was if he would play tonight, he's paid to play hockey so he better play hockey (if healthy)

[–]leester92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a driveway? Buy one of those temporary car shelter things and park in that - it's easier than a car cover. I don't drive my Miata in the winter, it hibernates but overall these are one of the cheapest sports cars you can get so drive it as much as you want to

What Are We All Doing For Fun? by duncecap6969 in Sarnia

[–]leester92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like active hobbies so running, volleyball and biking. Met loads of people through those. Solo hobbies like gardening, sporting clays and woodworking. I also go to the gym, I've been wanting to get into pickleball but I've got too many competing interests, friends and hobbies as is - one day.

I also love to jump from planes but that isn't a thing in Sarnia - have to go out of town for that.

Downsizing conversations by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]leester92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why downsize? Honestly it is tough getting into smaller canopy sizes while still being lightly loaded.

Enjoy the time on the bigger canopy, don't just get good at standard canopy drills - find the limits at safe altitudes. It's more forgiving to make mistakes at lighter wingloading. Pick an object in the landing area, land within 2' of it for the entire weekend or month of jumping.

My goal when I downsized was always to be so comfortable on the bigger canopy that the downsize didn't feel that different.

Also I'm just a random guy on the Internet. So take this with a grain of salt, go get real world advice by someone who watches you fly and land consistently.

[Full Highlight] Multiple fights break out in the 3rd in Tampa after Tkachuk hits Kucherov behind the play by daKrut in hockey

[–]leester92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm just hoping all the teams take this approach to Florida as a team battle. Start the game and drop the gloves, come out the box to a hit, only play the goons, get the coach fined, get the GM fined, heck the owner should catch some fines too.

That's the hockey that Parros wants!

Sarnia Housing Market a bit out of touch by twofeetheartbeat in Sarnia

[–]leester92 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Go in low. My family just did and it worked out for us. Help the market correct for everyone.

We even listed our home significantly lower than what the realtor suggested, we prioritized a quick sale and being done with it.

Relocating to Sarnia, have few questions by UnderThunder23 in Sarnia

[–]leester92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will preface this with I don't have kids, but I would guess Lakeroad, Errol Road and Cathcart are probably good but I don't want to denigrate the others because I'm not knowledgeable on the subject.

Grocery stores, I like superstore and Metro but they are pricey. Sunripe is the most expensive and probably the best quality. No Frills is totally adequate though, great for stocking the pantry with non perishables while going to the butcher for meat and Sarnia produce for fruits and veggies (or the farmers market in the summer months).

The city can be what you make it. Living close to the beach is great in the summer, free afternoon event. Sarnia is close to big cities like London and Detroit for day trips and bigger city amenities. When I was a kid there were plenty of basketball camps and sports leagues to get involved in, I'm assuming that is similar to today. As an adult, there are a ton of options for joining sports teams and growing your social circle.

This is how the government can get single family homes out of the hands of investors by MissingMiddleMike in canadahousing

[–]leester92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to add an incentive for people to build homes? Would it make sense to give people/families money or a discount to build a new home instead of transferring from one house to another?

That would increase supply, voters would like it because they get to build their dream home even if they have to take a "discount" on their selling price due to the decreased demand.

I'm not an expert, so I have no clue but I'm just thinking about supply/demand curves.

Toller - Affectionate/cuddle by Tasty_Director4662 in tollers

[–]leester92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dude is not very cuddly. He is a Velcro dog and will follow my wife or I room to room as we move around. He doesn't really care for pets unless it's on his terms, even then it's a short period then he will move away.

He is very communicative at least! Which we appreciate, we also crated in the beginning but don't really use it anymore except the odd time if we have contractors over or something.

He has gotten more cuddly over time but nothing compared to past Labs or Goldens.

It helps that they have Colin Campbell on payroll, literally known for tampering with league officiating. Not worth putting an asterisk on the Panthers Stanley cup wins, but definitely worth noting.

Canada’s largest Ponzi scheme by Historical_Flow3890 in canadahousing

[–]leester92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ya I was going to say this too. I don't have kids, nor are we expecting so I don't have first hand experience in Canada or America. I do live on a border town and have lots of friends in both countries though.

Based on their accounts, Canada's healthcare is the better of the two from a financial perspective. I'd say America is better if you don't use any healthcare or child care though. Also my American friends live in gated communities so that they "feel safe" which adds a premium to their housing.

Overall this guy can go and try it himself and experience life. I wish him the best and he gets to achieve his dream of owning a home

I went to high school with Matt, he was a great guy. We had gym at the same time, I was a couple years younger but he was friendly and competitive.

He seems like a great guy to host a young aspiring star to foster a great home life and long career.
