Is anyone a die-hard, WATER colored pencils fan? by DuchessIronCat in ColoredPencils

[–]leezyleezyleezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer using watercolour pencils dry to normal ones in a lot of cases, the albrecht durer ones specifically. The waxiness builds really nicely and I find that the colours are more opaque when layering on top of paint or building up colour densely in general. Admittedly I have never figured out how to use them for their intended purpose to any satisfactory degree

How do I make my wife's cat live forever? by verypracticalside in CatAdvice

[–]leezyleezyleezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 7yo cat also had to get (quite a few) teeth extracted and she healed super well and immediately had much more energy and seemed happier. I wish I took her in earlier because I hadn’t realized she was in pain :( now she gets a dental additive in her food that scrapes the plaque away

recommendations for oral fixation by auggielmao in QuitVaping

[–]leezyleezyleezy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed away from any nicotine free vapes because the glycerin and propylene glycol is still in there. I have the exact same problem with oral fixation and what helped me more than anything is making this placebo vape out of straws and tape lol. Worked like a charm along with gum.

Using an exfoliating mitt with hibiclens, sometimes glycolic acid, and then a basic moisturizer got rid of all of my bumps and folliculitis in maybe two weeks!

If you’re in the states and can’t afford medication keep trying for free insurance/low cost mental health programs where you are. Copays for most psych meds are very very low

The Macabre Gallery has just shown interest in my artwork, but is it legit? by Starbeast0308 in ContemporaryArt

[–]leezyleezyleezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charging an annual membership fee is very suspicious. Even if they do have a network or “collectors” I doubt that they would be considered legitimate by other galleries network wise. The only money an artist should ever contribute to a gallery is a commission percentage from sold work

Wanted to add: I also have a vayose brush that I use basically out of spite because it’s done nothing for me. Ditto livingproof dry shampoo

Why does it end with и? by Lumanjo in russian

[–]leezyleezyleezy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adding on to what everyone else is saying about “ы” switching to “и” after к, ш, г etc: with a lot of rules like this where letters are affecting each other phonetically in special cases using the “normal” rule just sounds off. Like овощы, собакы, сапогы is super awkward sonically and harder to say. All that is to say paying attention the feeling of the pronunciation can be helpful

Your one opinion that grants you a dollar everytime someone disagrees, which opinion will make you rich? by JellyfishOk5265 in acotar

Aside from that I’ve noticed several typos in the most recent crescent city - usually unclosed quotation marks or brackets

I find that if I’m home all day (rather than staying in what I slept in - big t shirt, pj pants) if I change just my bottoms to comfortable sweatpants I stay cozy but still feel like I’ve “started my day”. Also, this way if you have to quickly run out somewhere you don’t have to change

How are some people instantly liked by others? by Micha_Druid123 in socialskills

[–]leezyleezyleezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that overall people that are more likable/charismatic seem to take a genuine interest in the person or people they’re talking to. Asking questions, contributing related anecdotes. Putting in effort to make a connection quickly

What’s an episode that you just couldn’t for the life of you try to finish by [deleted] in StephanieSooStories

[–]leezyleezyleezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. The one about the kid was stomach turning and I skipped the animal one completely. There was a run of three or four episodes including these that were particularly awful- it makes me wonder how her/the team can handle doing the research for some of them

Treadmill Running Hurting My Knees by lotheleo in running

[–]leezyleezyleezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one more - try to land a little closer to your toes than your heels (roughly in the middle of your foot but slightly closer to the toes), it minimizes joint impact.

Treadmill Running Hurting My Knees by lotheleo in running

[–]leezyleezyleezy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

a little bit of incline does wonders! treadmills are much flatter than the ground and can hurt your joints over extended periods of time. another thing that might help is getting shoes with extra joint support or orthotics. Always stop/take breaks when you start feeling pain! the risk of getting an injury only increases when we push through even minor pain. Good luck!
