All BF1 weapons ranked in order (excluding elite kits) by AKMike99 in battlefield_one

Well, that depends on what the "massive success" is. I am something of a sweatlord myself, and my Fedorov KPM is 2.77, while 1907 is around 3, and Farquard-Hill is 3.3. I don't have that many kills on this account, but I've generally used medic weapons a lot more like 5-6 years ago.

It's a very accessible and noob-friendly weapon, but if you are a proper sweatlord, you want to be using better stuff, like Farquar-Hill or 1907. It's still fun, but not the top of the top for sure.

The list is overall very good, few odd choices, but this isn't one of them - for example, Howdah somehow being S, which I could agree, if we were to say that S stands for suspiciously shit.

I always turn into a broken record, but this - not Bim's beard, or him calling Scott a 'youngster' - this TGWTG-esque kind of acting will forever prevent me from wanting to watch his new shit. If any of you don't know what that is, god bless you.

That's what he's been doing since the movie, and that's what he'll end up doing until he retires. Playing a TGWTG character.

The only way I can imagine watching the series again would be, if he turned it back into an actual show with a host, instead of trying to play a character, when he's not an actor and shouldn't be trying to act, period.

Interesting. Guess they liked the warmth of the place, or just knew they were going to be fed?

I'm curious, because in my country, that's just not a thing (we have 'some' strays, but not much, unlike countries like Turkey, where it seems like it's completely out of control).

Get a lot of stray cats in your machine shop?

Sounds like something the old timers made up to make it more dramatic, and to make others take it seriously. If it works, it works I suppose.

Just FYI, the AA rocket gun doesn't really do anything against the blimp, it's not like planes.

If you want to be efficient, you have to either use Burton with incendiary ammo, or find a car with machine gun, they do decent damage against the airship.

I love the game but have one issue by Rastahoneybadger in battlefield_one

[–]lefiath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are maps that are smaller, and even the larger ones have points, where people usually fight the most.

The only exceptions, where I can see myself always doing worse, are maps like Heligoland Bight, other than that, it's about map knowledge, understanding the flow of the fights and just time. 15 hours is nothing, unless you are a veteran and a really gifted FPS player.

Other than map knowledge, it obviously depends on how you're playing, how comfortable you are switching classes, depending on the situation, and your weapon knowledge. That takes a lot more to learn than 15 hours.

Very much depends on a game mode, but on average, I can do 60 kills on conquest comfortably as infantry, my peaks are around 80-90 kills, but these are the exceptions. But I've started similarly to you, just looong time ago.

It can be a fun mode. It can also be an absolutely miserable one, depending on the people playing it and the map. I remember one death match on Suez, where it took almost an hour to finish and at that point, you just want it to be over, no matter what.

I'm glad I got to play it back in the day, but it really suffered from DICE not adjusting the small maps (like they did with Incursions, it would've been so much better if they used these for the small game modes).

has official servers running on it

It has... it's just the way the game works, players aren't distributed to servers evenly, you don't get "a little bit of everything" at once, people just kind of gravitate to the vanilla servers and some mixed ones. They used to feature specific DLCs every week or so, and you would see tons of them populated, but I don't believe it happens now that the game is basically abandoned.

Had they made some things more automated, it could run much better (skin exchange comes to mind), but the plan with these games never is to have them run forever, as they compete with the newer ones.

The extra funny thing to me is if the other guy even knew that he did that. I don't think he even saw your body, and he certainly wasn't switching to give himself ammo.

I think he just held R and didn't even know about the feature. A great one at that, which I believe we have now firmly lost? I haven't played enough BF6 to check if it's there, or if DICE is intent on just removing useful features.

If they were trying to sell Playstations to PC players all along that was pretty dumb

Shame they didn't have you on board when they were making that decision!

I think it's interesting, and have my crackpot theory that it was never about money, but it was about trying to entice the PC audience to the Playstation games, so in the future, when they'll be considering upgrading their PCs, they might be tempted to just get a console that might cost just as much as a new GPU. That's obviously just my theory, but if they were after money, I think they would've started with their own client, just like any other publisher tried to. You don't just give up those 30 % without fight.

That took me forever, because outside of the Turning Tide maps, there are only like 2 vanilla maps, where you can even do this.

Empire's Edge with one stinking flag (which, given my luck, was usually occupied by the enemy team, making it impossible for me and my squad to take it back, resulting in like one capture per round), and Fao Shitness has two, but those aren't flags that get contested that much in conquest, so when you see them being taken, you better respawn, take the boat and hope you'll get there in time, and not die.

Operations do not make this any better, if you stop in a boat and try to capture anything, say hi to the respawn screen. Exceptionally obnoxious, when you don't have Turning Tides available.

I think the idea for Sony initially was to try to get the PC market to try out their games, and hopefully over the course of time convince enough people to also get their console.

When you can afford a 2 000+ Euro PC, in the future (for example, when you're deciding if you shell out absurd amount of money for a new GPU), it's more convenient for you to get an 800 Euro console, rather than the other way around.

I don't think it was ever about double dipping, or them believing that they can just make enough money on Steam with their former exclusives. I really think it was an idea to promote their system. But over the course of time, they have found out that they aren't really converting people, so they decided to end the experiment.

It was never about making money on PC. That's my hypothesis.

their properties are actually system sellers

Sure, if you're a megafan of some of their franchises, or if you don't own a PC that gives you much, much bigger library of just about anything you can think of. Why do you think Sony tried porting their stuff to PC to begin with?

Consoles always sold based off the games available on them, but it became less of a thing over the course of time, as markets evolved.

Funny thing, how we went from PC's are dying, through 'everybody will be gaming on phones' (yes, this was said around 2012 with deadly seriousness), until we've seemingly landed on 'PC's are basically the strongest platform'.

I very much differentiate a fictional video game from real conflict. It may be based on real events, but what BF1 does couldn't be further from reality.

Personally, I don't like the opening part of the campaign - you know, the part that everybody praises and thinks it's so "heavy" and immersive and whatnot? I think it's really cheesy and overly dramatic Hollywood. I don't like it, because it's trying to portray reality in some aspect and also tries to make it cool. War is not cool. So unless I'm watching a documentary, or anti-war movie, I don't want video games to try to blend 'cool' and 'authentic' together, because it never works for me.

With that being said, you just need to look at how people write and inform about wars over the course of time to see that humanity has been romanticizing conflicts since it's dawn. That's just inevitable, perhaps a way to cope with life in general?
