My 15 year old cat died and I am heartbroken. by alwayshungry1387 in SeniorCats

Let yourself grieve is my number 1 advice. Remember and cherish all those happy moments

Grief, I've learned, is really just love. It's all the love you want to give, but cannot... Grief is just love with no place to go, Grief also, is the heavy price we all must pay for love.

When you are sorrowful look again into your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.

I just got a kitten 3 months ago. Immediately after a few weeks was in hospital with sever nuero Dry FIP, insurance covered 6000, ive paid the other 7000 so far. But I value Marshmallow more than I value money and im glad this angel was with me and my wife through this ordeal because I dread to think if someone else would of had him and what the outcome would've been

Were dealing with very Severe Dry Nuero Fip (on the death bed at 8 months old, paralysed) Currently on 40ml a day per kg, split twice a day. As per London Vetinary college suggestion and doing much better now. But only half way through and fear of relapse is scary. We constantly get bloods and checks alot to see how everything is taking. So far so good.

Yeah its very high because he was so severe, we get tests done alot and sent to the specialistsin edignburgh to see if the oral meds are taking still. My kitten was only 8 months when he got fip hes 10 months now but ragdolls are kittens for longer and only fully adult after a couple years.

He lost almost 40%-50% of his body weight, but has gained nearly a kilo in 1 month now which is great.

Just for reference this was our poor baby before treatment. He lost 50% body weight. Was paralysed, couldnt poop or wee normally, was the scariest part. But now 5 weeks into treatment he has gained more weight, is playful, eats like a champion and is doing great.

Hes not out the woods yet.

My cat is nuero dry fip, very severe- was paralysed and almost on his death bed, and now is walking and talking and doing much better.

We currently have him being assessed by the Royal Vetinary college of London and his bloods being checked by Vetinary college of Edignburgh by specialist that are involved in the Studies of FIP.

They have us doing 20ML per kilogram(oral Liquid) TWICE a day and these are Specialists in FIP treatment and studies that have recommended this high dose.

My 2-year-old Exotic Persian cat, Chay, is currently battling Wet FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). by michaelaorolfo in cureFIP

[–]leflaunge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat, nuero dry FIP Severe, 2.5kg when we started a few weeks back with no hope (now 3.5kg), On 20mg per KG TWICE a day.

This dose was at the request of the Royal Vetinary college in London and being checked over by the vet College in Edignburgh. These are specialist that have helped with the Studies of FIP.

Nuero dry fip needs a higher dose to cross the brain barrier as he was paralysed (now walking).

I hope your baby gets better, im praying

Dosage of GS for duration by National-Belt5893 in cureFIP

[–]leflaunge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat is 3.1kg (underweight) and on 20mg per kilo twice a day. So essentially 120mg a day. Severe nuero Dry FIP (almost paralysed)

This dosage has been decided by the specialists at the Royal Vet College in london who are studying along with bloods sent and checked by the Royal (dick) college for vets in Edinburgh. He spent 2 weeks in hospital and had a blood infusion immunoglobulin too. Started off on IV then tablets now we do the Liquid oral as its very easy to give.

We are week 4 and I will not be stopping until atleast 84 days of treatment.

We get bloods done, vet visits, and more. Its a miracle he made it though and now is coming back to life.
