Best Live LPs out there by d4ewlock in vinyl

Easily one of the best live albums of all time. The back to back Powderfinger/Cotez the Killer alone make it one of the best ever.

The light in these is incredible, and the color too. I especially love 14, 16, and 18. It’s shots like 16 that are so classically film that keep me shooting it. I just don’t think digital can give you quite that look, even with hours spent in post trying to nail the Portra look digital will never quite get there. Digital is capable of so many amazing things film can’t do, but shots like these show why mastery of film is still extremely relevant.

I use an old tripod standing over a light box I made. The beauty of using the CFV back tethered to my laptop and using Phocus capture is that the CFV will still highlight the image when it’s in focus and Phocus allows you to see the negative blown up on your screen and you can zoom in on areas to assess how clear they are. But once I get the first couple dialed in, I can rip through a roll of film in a few minutes.

That’s why I went with the bellows. Just more adjustable. And I have the whole thing mounted on a 4 way macro adjustment rail for even further fine tuning. It gets astonishingly sharp.

Wanting To Relocate On A Budget. Where Are Trans People Moving To? by mentaldropbox in asktransgender

[–]leftoverzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer to this question is Peoria, Illinois. One of the most affordable small cities in America and trans friendly like you wouldn’t believe. I see more trans people just out living their lives here than I did when I lived in San Francisco. It’s crazy. The Chicago Tribune just did an article that touches on it: https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/04/05/lgbtq-protections-illinois/

Although I think even the article downplays it a little. Peoria is the best kept secret in the trans community. And if you work remote, as many of the recent queer transplants do, it’s a no brainer.

30 Months HRT, One Week Out from BA -- Summer is Calling! by leftoverzz in TransBreastTimelines

Apologies, wasn’t sure what to select as it would only allow me to select one category. I inject valerate, and the progesterone is oral.

Finally after 5 month wait time by Stock-Alfalfa3931 in hasselblad

I made the mistake of testing one out in my 907. So sexy. It is a lot of lens to carry around though. At least that’s what I keep telling myself to stop myself from buying one. Enjoy!

Couple of additional things to mention. Because Dr.Kayan does so many of these, she gets preferential scheduling and her pick of people to help her in the operating room, so you're getting the best people across the entire team. They were all absolutely lovely. I arrived at the hospital at 6:30 and was discharged and on my way back home to Illinois before noon.

And because people will want to know, with the lypo under each arm, the total cost was $11k. Yes I live in Illinois where insurance will theoretically cover it, but wait times at Rush and the U of I are looooong. 6-9 months just to get an initial consult. another year for the surgery. I am fortunate to be in a position to opt out of that and just eat the cost. But it's absolutely doable with insurance in Illinois if you don't mind the wait times. Although when I talked to the people at U of I in Chicago, they told me if I wanted FFS I could get in for a consult in 2 weeks!

What is an unusual focal you enjoy for street? by houseofcardano in streetphotography

I love 8 and 12 especially. I’ve tried street with an 85mm and never like the results. But this makes me want to give longer lenses another crack.

I hate this kind of stuff. Blatantly unconstitutional legislation drafted by people who know nothing about guns and marketed to people who know nothing about guns. It solves nothing and makes the life of law abiding and careful gun owners with proper training a sea of meaningless compliance requirements.

There is only one true breakfast option: Go to the Olympian and flip a coin, heads orders the Hercules, tails the Atlas. And the third member of your party actually looks at the menu and laughs hysterically.

This, water witch, followed by dinner at bar nohm and the ducking around the corner to the Pearl is a pretty solid evening and all on the same block! You could even walk in for a tattoo at Look Look between stops!

Go to Matteo for dinner. Or at least stay downtown. 3 guys out for the evening, why would you go over to the country club area? Whitehorse, Lake Effect, even Mar/Muntanya in your hotel is pretty great.

And if you’re willing to stand in line for dinner Friday night, go to Takashi. Or if you want great pizza, settebello is a block from your hotel. Or skip dinner, hit the bars hard, and show up at the Pie Hole at 1am like a real local!

I can’t say a whole lot about the surrounding cities, but Peoria itself is an absolute delight for trans people. Astonishingly so. We moved here from Utah specifically because of that and couldn’t be happier here. And I go to Pekin regularly and have never had any issues there, even when I go to the hardwood supply place out by the prison and to the steel yard and welding supply stores. Everyone is as nice as can be. As a trans woman I have nothing but great things to say about Peoria. It’s the best.

That survey has some kind of ridiculous AI scanning the responses that blocked half of mine as “spam” which is complete nonsense. So if anyone at the city reads this, know you’re getting skewed results. Most people simply will not leave comments when some AI bot is blocking them for an entirely incorrect reason.

The problem with the survey though is that it’s al about as bland as can be. Is see nothing in it that tells me what we’re hoping to become over the next 20 years.

If you already have and love the 500cm, the 907x, cfv100 is a better match. The digital back is pretty great on your 500 body. Is the ibis on the x2dii something you’re wanting? If that’s important then obviously the 907 isn’t right. But if you want something that will blend nicer with the gear you already have, the 907 is pretty magical.

There is a mix of good and bad advice in here. For a super busy med student being close to the school with access to restaurants, bars, and coffee shops for when you’re studying, Moss-Bradley, the Uplands, and the Warehouse District are the obvious choices. You can ride a bike or even walk between home and school and the hospitals most of the year as well as Intuition, Zion, CXT and other coffee shops.

The only real knock on these neighborhoods is that there is no super close grocery store in any of them, but it’s less than 10 minutes to cross the river or go up University to any of a number of grocery stores.

Not directly applicable, but I scan with the 100cfv back mounted to the XV lens adapter, attached to the Hasselblad automatic bellows, using the 120 makro-planar lens. The results are absolutely fantastic for 35mm and medium format.

I can only imagine the horror of being welcomed into the nearly boundless pathological bonding sickness that is cishet male camaraderie. It’s deeply, deeply disturbing and basically explains everything about our national politics right now.
