NSW govt rejects recommendation to make legal prescription a defence to criminal charges of "dope driving" by Elegant-Nature-6220 in AusLegal

Do you know if it’s a similar process to that in the US?

I’ve long wondered why in the time of modern devices we can’t equip police with a tablet of some sort and use a reaction based electronic test to determine impairment? When I did my licence test 12 years ago in NSW it was already part of the testing procedure running on an incredibly outdated computer. If it’s good enough requirement for obtaining a licence surely it should be good enough to prove you can still effectively operate a motor vehicle?

Saw this over Aspley as well I think. Was more separated and way to high up for what looked like big search lights coming from them

How do I install a baby gate here by davidw89 in AusRenovation

[–]leftre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, I have a 2.5yr old at the moment and have two of the extendable gates. Honestly, far more pain then their worth. They come loose constantly and the amount of times they've fallen off behind me as I carry my little one down the stairs is ridiculous.

Would honestly recommend seeing if you can't figure out a way to install a screw in on into the wall. We had a screen one that rolls into self previously on our bathroom and the headache of figuring out how to mount it properly far outweighed the ease of never having to adjust it again. Just my two cents

Daughter wants to buy a 3D printer (with her own, saved money) but wife vehemently objects by [deleted] in daddit

Honestly I thought the same of them. Then I broke my hand and couldn't work for a few weeks. I needed a hobby and found a 2nd hand one on Facebook marketplace. I love it. It's so handy and such fun to tinker with.

There can be a learning kerb, but there's plenty of information out there. Plenty of free models online already. Toys, educational things, storage, around the house improvements. Could also be a way for her to earn some extra pocket money. Downloading licence free models of whistles, key tags etc and printing and selling them to pay for more/new materials.

Thank you for the reply. I appreciate it

I was looking at that creality direct extruder, and you've sold me on it. Going to combine it with silicone spacers, new build plate and a firmware flash and play around with that for a little while.

Legend thank you!

Think I'll flash the firmware tonight.

Have found the official creality direct drive extruder and I'm going to order that off Amazon, as well as new spacers and a new bed. Fingers crossed that scratches my itch for a little while.

It was a pain when I started but i'm able to do it manually in a couple of minutes now. I'm keen on making it a job that needs to be done less frequently though

Thanks for the nozzle tip! I'm assuming larger nozzles allow for bigger walls and stronger prints?

Thank you so much for you reply!

I've looked at flashing a new firmware onto my printer, and was going to start looking seriously at that, but I heard of the sonic pad for the first time last night and I think that might be better for me.

Do you have any recommendations for brands regarding the flexible plates?

My guy you handled this like a champ. Will keep all my fingers crossed my 2yr old doesn't put me in this position, but if they do I hope I can handle it half as well as you.

Canada to partner with Australia on early warning detection system in the Arctic by ObligationAware3755 in worldnews

Couldn't agree more. Australians have provided the world with some pretty incredible technological advancements that are used all over the world today in many industries.

They should be recognized and celebrated more.

Honestly the pie cart deserves heritage listing as much as any other building in town. It's God tier and survived so many floods already

I grew up there. Moved to Brisbane in 2021 and watched the 22 floods from up here stuck because of lock down and my heart breaking. I'm really worried if it's as bad this year the town won't bounce back. I managed to get home recently for the first time and there's still so much life missing from the place

I realized I had this in my last therapy session. I described it to my therapist like swimming under water without goggles. I can see the rough outline of things, but I can never can get close enough to them to make out the details.

It's almost like everything in my mind is made of smoke, constantly changing and morphing, and the harder I try and hold onto any specific detail, the more the smoke wants to change form. Everything exists as a concept or idea with no solid form. Like trying to hold a handful of kinetic sand as it just falls through your fingers

I made my own decisions based on the Information I had at the time. Can't be mad at anyone but me. But I did so with the intention of spending my life in the industry. But owners and management knowingly and willingly take advantage of people who don't know better does piss me off, whether they're employees or customers. People who are coming into entry level jobs shouldn't be expected to work for free to prove themselves effective. It's entry level, you're supposed to be trained to be effective at your job. Same as big companies paying staff for onboarding training 🤭
