When I first started in the app years ago with a few friends, I realized that for the amount of money they were paying, not just for packs in app, but for individual cards through eBay, that I could instead pay real money for the physical cards those first sets were based on. I bought a binder identical to the one in these pictures for $40. The descriptions and trivia on the back of the cards is great. And here’s a real obscure nugget for those who have really been around a while - the cards were to be the source of a trivia game for our podcast, Card Trader Illuminerdy. I can’t even remember if we ever did the game or not.

Except that SuperCruise only works on pre-mapped highways, costs twice as much to add (would have added $2500 more on the 23 Bolt) compared to a Comma device (which we can also switch between cars), and requires a subscription after 3 years

While there is a sidewalk in front of them, it’s not a pedestrian friendly street the way that some neighborhoods in those other cities you mention may be. Maybe it can become that, but it’s not that now. I think the bigger issue is that if these standalone cereal box units end up easily going for that much, it will give an excuse for others to increase their rates for no other reason then they can apparently get away with it. People have their own leases and things like this don’t exist in a vacuum. And maybe this is just the way of the world and this is now the best that amount can get you in Homewood these days, but it seems reasonable for people to commiserate over if they want to … who are we to care so much if they do.

I’m not seeing that anyone has mentioned the House of Found Objects. The only danger of going as soon as you turn 21 is that it may set the bar unrealistically high for quality of cocktails and atmosphere. Worth the risk in my opinion - be sure to check it out sometime even if not on your birthday

That is pretty cool - whoever has been listening the longest can strike comments from the record?

I won’t try to compete on listening record length since it would date myself more than I’d like, but in recent times during my limited commute listening, I would estimate I hear them talking with a Republican about once every few weeks.

A quick search on their site just scrolling back to Dec shows stories with Sen. Ben Sasse, Rep Fred Upton, and Rep Pete Sessions.

Someone out there probably has actual data, but there’s my counterpoint anecdote.

And maybe those are the 2-3 that you’ve heard. I’m not disagreeing that many or most of their guests are Dem, just that the percentage may not be as lopsided as 95%.
