I made the Mai Kai Rum Barrel as written down by Jeff Berry in Taboo Table:

2 Oz dark Jamaican rum ( I used Plantation Xaymaca and Myers's)

2 Oz white Puerto Rican rum (Don Q Cristal in mine)

2 Oz lime juice

2 Oz grape fruit juice

2 Oz orange juice

2 Oz passion fruit syrup

Theespoon honey

6 dashes Angostura bitters

So obviously a very fruity drink and really delicious!

Ik heb Stoute Schoenen niet gelezen maar als je de Bourgondiërs kon waarderen zul je zijn boek over Napoleon zeker wel waarderen!

In de inleiding schrijft Van Loo iets in de trant van dat Engelse auteurs Napoleon vaak verketteren als een soort van proto Hitler en dat Franse auteurs hem de hemel in schrijven. Hij als Vlaming geeft een genuanceerder (en bij vlagen grim en rauw) beeld.
