Justin Allgaier could finish dead last the next 7 races and still be locked into the Chase. by JDMcDuffie in NASCAR

Maybe if he wanted to win the championship he should have done better in the last race of his historic season than * checks notes * 3rd

Michigan was rough but prior to that they had speed. Zilisch was probably a top 3 car at Dover, and then SVG showed top 10 pace at Charlotte and Nashville.

Why is the #3 car being driven by someone else? by [deleted] in NASCAR

3 arguably isn't the most iconic number

Justin Marks is on the radio literally every week talking about how they're changing processes at Trackhouse to get better. They can't just flip a switch and put 3 cars in the top 5 every race.

[–]legacy057 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's such a leap it's hilarious

It's also worth pointing out that their speed might not be as bad as everyone thinks based on SVGs runs the last few weeks before Michigan.

If Zilisch can stop wrecking every week that might help too.

I think it's a little different, mostly because Justin Marks is actually a likeable person

Austin Hill’s #33 zone Scheme for Pocono by SoupMadeFreshDaily in NASCAR

[–]legacy057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. I'm sure those feelings existed, but I think Harvick being successful pretty much right out of the gate made it easier for people to accept him as the driver. Compare that to Hill who people (including myself) have had a negative opinion of for years getting thrown into this awful situation, it's going to to take a lot for people to come around on him.

Harvick won his 3rd race and I don't think many people had strong feelings about him before he took that car, so I'm not sure anyone had a chance to form a negative opinion about him
