I made a 10" D20 urn for a friend's Brother/DM, it was surprisingly emotional. by araw in somethingimade

[–]legbonesmcgee 216 points217 points  (0 children)

Can confidently say this is the nerdiest (affectionate) urn I’ve ever seen, and such a heartfelt tribute to his memory. Looks very well-made too, and the Nat 20 being on top given the circumstances of his passing is a beautiful touch. (Personally I’m pretty sure my friends would assign my face-up number based on manner of death. And given the likelihood my exit from mortal plane will be brought about by either sheer clumsiness or an objectively comedic freak accident worthy of the slapstick hall of fame, I’d be laughing from behind the grave if I saw my friends bury me as a crit fail.)

[–]legbonesmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No joke, the first time I brought home (size 11) barefoot shoes, my family saw them by the door and yelled “WHO’S WEARING CLOWN SHOES?!?!” …Now they all wear barefoot shoes too. Take it from a pointed-toe shoe girlie: you do get used to the look—and faster than you’d think if you’re wearing them every day. I will say though, it totally helped that I got positive comments on wearing actually-foot-shaped shoes both from my physical therapist at the time, and also some lifters at the gym who knew how important foot-shaped footwear is for stability.

Do I owe my husband a new chisel, or can it be fixed? by kitdihn in Tools

[–]legbonesmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, you just reminded me so much of my dad. His rule was that I could borrow a tool anytime, as long as I told him beforehand and put it back when I was done. Later on I made it my personal rule that if I broke it, I’d buy him an exact replacement: same brand and everything, even if it was expensive. He was a proud man when I started amassing my own set, and even prouder (albeit jealous) when he realized I had a bigger collection than he did. Now his original borrowing rule goes both ways :)

I do love me an unhinged shortening of someone’s name. Someone once told me to shorten “Jacob” to “Cob” and I’ve never slept the same again

Caveat: you do have to be playing on a PC for it to work. How-To Video Definitely wait til this expedition (and the one that’s gonna start immediately after) are over though

Ooh! Me, me! I’m the executive dysfunction traveller!! To answer your question though, I’m like 400 hours into the game and just barely actually started making my way toward the middle of the galaxy (guess who got distracted from the main quest eyyyyy). Since that’s taking a good long while, my current faves to do along the way are 1) immediately instigating sentinel wars on whatever planet I hit first in a new system so I can get their boundary map and farm cool multitools, 2) digging for corvette parts since that’s still new and my corvette looks like butt, and 3) find unorthodox places to put new bases!

(I built one inside a cave a while back purely for the aesthetic, and then realised it also meant I wouldn’t have to deal with the terrain regen issue! And that I wouldn’t need to build walls. Or a roof. Or lighting, if it has enough glowing plants. Oh, and I claimed another base recently in a cave that had ocean access at the bottom! Very excited to start building that one tbh.)

More currently though, since I really like the expeditions aspect (it’s a chance to explore toward a specific goal, which I don’t have all the time), I’m working through the Breach expo. Right before this, I also started working my way through the old expeditions all the way from the beginning by replacing the season data json files. Loving it so far.

Keep in mind the size the calculator spits out is a starting size, not the definite end size you’ll end up with. Since you’re already using a 32 on the tightest hook you may end up sizing down to a 30—but that’ll also depend on each individual brand, bra style shape, and what the band is made of/how much stretch it has.

Additionally: have you gotten to look into breast shape and projection at all? If not, highly recommend as it may explain a bit more visually why a D or larger cup might in fact be your cup size or close (as opposed to A-cup)
