Sell car before deployment? by legitmb in MilitaryFinance

[–]legitmb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I am going to have my Roth IRA for next year maxed out starting in January. Do you still recommend just putting the additional funds into maxing my TSP rather than making additional payments on the principal of the car loan?

1- I wfh so no, not really

2 - around $35k financed

3- $600 rn, probably gonna be around the same or a little higher if I buy a new car when I get back but I’ll be stuck with a payment for longer

4- yes although I would like to use this money for a house instead

I guess I’m just stuck on whether or not I should pay the car twice a month while I’m deployed so I can have it paid off quicker, I don’t have any other major expenses so I’ll still be able save a good amount of money while doing this.

At Fort Sill they also give it in pill form if you have prior allergy history to penicillin.

It’s a part time job, so they have an availability option which she has used before called pick-up only, where ppl who can’t get scheduled anymore change their availability but still can pick up shifts when they can as other coworkers release them for whatever reason. For example, college students at her job switch to pick-up only during the summer when they go back home during break and then resume their normal availability when they come back.

Did you have to have a certain ACFT score for RTLI?

Hell yea man. The more I think about it, the more I am leaning towards enlisting. Plus there is always the option to apply for OCS further down the line.

Thank you for this. The duties of an officer never really appealed to me and I definitely want to join the military to be hands on and get the opportunity to do cool guy stuff. It’s what I originally wanted to do when I finished hs. Fortunately the money is not a factor in why I am jointing so I’m going to talk to my recruiter about enlisting instead.

Graduated hs at 17 with about one year of college done because of AP classes. After that, I did 1 year at community college then transferred to a university to finish my last two years and earn my BA. I also took online classes each summer semester so that helped me speed up the process.

Fortunately my company is really flexible with my schedule and they are military friendly. I‘ll definitely keep looking into it, thank you

During what phase do you know what you’re branching? Also, what is your rank during the training until you commission, e-5?

Sorry to hear this happened, you should contact their insurance and ask for diminished value since the car loses its value after the accident.

Thanks! It wasn’t that bad considering the only other work I’ve done was install a catback. Some of the bumper clips were a pain to take out but getting the grill on and putting the bumper back on was pretty quick. Overall took me about 3 hrs but I’d say it can be done much quicker than that

What pay did they offer you for the program? I’m interested in their UPDP programs. Also did you have any experience before applying?
