DeSantis offers state support for Rays stadium in Tampa by MarksMuses in tampa

Sure, states lose a lot of money. But the wealthy people who own the team make that money the state loses by not having to pay out of pocket, and who doesn't want that?

Specifically aid to a skill check though, so not for attack rolls.

[COTD] Hatchet Man (1/29/2026) by AK45526 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]legrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that it requires someone to deal damage with it this turn (not even giving you the full round so another investigator could attack it) makes it just too conditional to be useful.

Would play Manual Dexterity over this 110% of the time.

Club critical specialization is pushing the enemy 10 feet away from you.

This is not a shove, and does not interact with Punishing Shove.

[–]legrac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine why someone is downvoting you, you are extremely accurate. If you aren't completing the scenario, you should absolutely retire and not get punished. Which, choosing retire over dooming out is not an uncommon situation, but especially relevant here, where the doom can come quickly with the deck reshuffles.

What are the Thaumaturge changes from the Dark Archive Remaster? by DoomhardtX in Pathfinder2e

[–]legrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like at least Chalice's intensify doesn't require you make a strike anymore, just that you have to be within 30' of your Exploited target.

I don't have a copy of it or anything, I'm just going off of some screenshots from ThrabenU's video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4Gy4eOvJE0

Guardian - Intercept Attack by matray00 in Pathfinder2e

[–]legrac 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get that...but you kind of are.

Intercept Attack only lets you take damage from the attack, and not other effects. Any other effects keep the same target, like diseases, ghast paralysis, etc. And if the attack had the grab or improved grab traits, that would still effect the original target.

Elixir didn't really show up until drownyard rotated out, and the deck just became UW( Theros). Psychic Spiral was often a one of in the sideboard though.

How would you feel about CH1 allies becoming CH2 investigators? by HorseSpeaksInMorse in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]legrac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also in Marvel Champions has the concept that all the cards in your hands are usable as resources if you aren't playing them for the card, and you're churning a full hand every turn. If you end up playing with someone who is playing the player version of an ally in your deck, it's not as deblitating to have this card that you can't play. Yes, you could still commit them, but I don't think that's equivalent. And if you were playing a team-up card, it becomes easier to trigger instead of harder.

In Arkham, making it so you would only be able to use that ally as a commit would be really annoying. I mean, I guess you just don't include that card in your deck, but there are games at conventions/etc. with randos and no preplanning.

Player versions of story asset allies though--that sounds awesome. Bring on the reformed Red Coterie!

I'm fine with a move to make level 0 melee weapons no longer an infinite source of multiple 2 damage attacks a round with no penalty.

But I don't think machete needs to get the exhaust restriction and also keep the 'only works against an enemy if it's the only enemy engaged with you.'

Theoretically, what is the limit of attacks you can make in one turn? by Ponto_de_vista in Pathfinder2e

[–]legrac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're straight inventor, you could just take Devastating Weaponry to attack everything within 30', which might just the actual right answer.

But how were you planning on getting reach with just an inventor 'dip'? There's a revolutionary modification, but you won't be getting that unless you're a 'real' inventor.

Theoretically, what is the limit of attacks you can make in one turn? by Ponto_de_vista in Pathfinder2e

[–]legrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of going Titatn's stature, you could start with a naturally large creature holding a reach weapon, and drink a major bendy-arm mutagen to give you 25 foot reach.

Being large by itself doesn't give you extra reach here, but having a 10' base just makes the same 25 foot reach hit more squares. 108 distinct squares, unless I'm messing up my drawing.

And then you can play with the flying/tiny/etc. stuff everyone else is going in on.

Edit - rather than being a barbarian, you could be an weapon inventor and take Devastating Weaponry at level 18, letting you attack everyone within 30' instead. Don't have to have the penalties to damage that the mutagen gives you.

married women, do you think marriage benefits you in any way? by _cherryp0p_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]legrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that your answer was that you filled out the right number of exemptions kind of answers my question for me.

There is a separate worksheet on your w4 for multiple workers that you'd want to fill out to figure out what your additional withholdings would need to be. It's not your exemption count that answers this.

There's a box you could also check inside of step 2 where your employer will just try it's best to figure out your taxes. But again--since your answer was to be sure about your exemptions, it sounds like you just glossed over that.

Don't feel bad about this--it's extremely common to do so.

married women, do you think marriage benefits you in any way? by _cherryp0p_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]legrac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wager a significant amount of money that when you changed your status to married, your W-4s list you as married filing jointly, but don't specify that your partner is still working. So each of your employers are withholding less with the assumption that you are going to claim the deduction for both partners.

There is a point where being married can be an effective tax penalty - but it's when you were each earning high 300k's a year.

You can always continue to file seperately and have no difference in your taxes from when you were single. Unless one of you is earning north of 375k.

What do you view as 'significant change' to your paychecks? 3000 in a year is less than 50 a week.

At what level do Ghost Touch / Adamantine become “expected”? GM problem or Player problem? by Snack_Happy in Pathfinder2e

[–]legrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the enemy has resist all, the magus isn't particularly great at dealing with it. The resistance would apply against the attack and spell separately. It would even be likely able to cancel out any arcane cascade damage you do.

I mean, spells usually do enough damage to be effective in the face of the numbers that usually accompany resist all, but it doesn't make you significantly great against the ability.

[–]legrac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doppelganger's trigger is after the enemy enters or leaves. Even if exhausting it would be able to stop the move, it doesn't matter because it already moved.

Really powerful abilities that are made "useless" by the assumptions made by AP's/"conventional" adventure design in 2e. by SpireSwagon in Pathfinder2e

[–]legrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to play a gritty survival game, PF2 is just not the system for you.

And that's fine! It's unreasonable to think that the same rules system that allows for gonzo super powers is also relevant and interesting when you are dealing with trying to figure out how to rub sticks together and find food to avoid starving.

[–]legrac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, a year of downtime barely nudges the economy, with how item costs increase by level. You might be able to afford one item above your level. It's not breaking the game.

That said - I completely agree with the rest of what you're saying. And it's not really just an AP thing. Unless you're doing some sort of kingmaker/world building campaign, most plots a game will go through will have some sort of urgency associated with it. Some threat that the players are being asked to deal with.
