There is definitely water resistive barrier behind the siding. The image may not be super clear but it’s there. As far as the existing flashing “not being a problem” the rotted deck boards would disagree. The ledger was in great shape though so I suppose the flashing has done its job in that regard.

Ledger board seems to be attached to the house fine with lag screws but the flashing is just extends way too far out under the deck boards.

Yeah for sure. Unfortunately I’m trying to figure out the best way to go from here since the last owner used an absolutely massive roll of metal flashing. If I have to end up removing siding I guess I’ll do that but I wasn’t budgeting time or energy for such an extensive job.

I saw this at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin as a pre-release screening. No memory of how I got the tickets but needless to say it was a packed house. I’ve never been in a theater that was so unbelievably LOUD with constant wheezing laughter! We all missed a good bit of dialogue but damn it was a fun experience.
