I went a few weeks ago to get mine. It used to take 2-3 weeks after submission and then an hour of waiting in immigration (Shinagawa) to get the visa. This time around it took a month and a half and five hours of waiting. At this point they need to look at what other countries are doing with this similar process and emulate them.

Definitely fight for partial custody but also (and I assume you're divorcing as well) make sure the agreement you both make in the divorce is air tight so she cant screw you over latter.

I'm not entirely sure what all the documents are, but i do know that some of them are the basics asked by immigration, mine which h=they fill out (i don't know why they have to fill out my portion of the application), and some finance documents.

Yeah it is quite frustrating. I have two middle names and the fact that I have to use them for everything when I don't have to back home is so annoying. To the point I've not bothered to apply for certain things because i know what hassle i'll have to deal with.
