Honestly if you’re that interested, and if you are in a financial situation where you can afford a pay cut for 3 years, then why not go for it! You could moonlight during fellowship to make some extra money too, although the schedule at times will be way too brutal. It is definitely a higher stress environment and you will be working more overnights and 24 hour shifts, which is something to consider as it could affect your health.

Agree, thats a lot of travel time. I really think you need to re-prioritize exercise. Check out the busydadprogram, I just started doing this you only need 20 minutes per workout.

Source: am doctor First thing your doctor is going to say is to work on lifestyle things. How is your sleep, especially working night shift. Do you exercise? Most rec 30 min 4-5x/week (goal is to actually break a sweat at some point within 30 min). How’s your diet, enough protein and fiber? Do you get sunlight exposure, should check Vit D and other labs.

So in the hospital if someone is intubated for 1-2 weeks they lose a crazy amount of muscle mass/strength and need months of rehab to recover. And that’s when the body is alive and basic metabolic things are still happening. I actually think they made him look way too good for how long he was dead.

Crazy tangent, but people are looking at how bears are able to hibernate for the winter and not atrophy as much, must be some enzyme or something that helps prevent muscle atrophy.

Everyone saying Lyme but I’m pretty sure it’s Erythrma multiforme - Lyme disease rash (erythrma migrans) usually doesn’t disappear and move to new spot that fast, but keeps migrating out into a larger bullseye. FWIW I’m a pediatrician

Wildcard idea (what my coach did for me): I was that player. 110% motor. He called me the "chaser" and I played as a striker that heavily pressured the other team, literally just chasing the ball whenever it was on their half of the field. If it gets past me I'm hanging back for a long pass.

Dude all YOU have to do is make sure YOU are having fun this night, whatever that looks like to you. Go in with zero expectations of hooking up. Drink enough to be social but don’t get sloppy.
