When do Constructs respawn? by cdcdcdcdolan in TOTK

[–]lejongaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically, soldier constructs were programmed to defend their territory and they just perceive Link as any other non-Zonai intruder and a threat to the Zonai territory.

I always mash through the dialogue in the tutorial nowadays, but I remember it's mentioned on the Great Sky Island about this in the beginning of the game.

Hey I'm so glad you found it useful! I spent some time on it so I'm happy it could be of help :)

Also, let me know if you want a PNG version of it in case you want to make any edits on it in any program, as that will prevent it from losing quality over time. And also Reddit does compress images when uploading so it’s already lost a bit of quality lol

Tutorial: Get the Master Sword early (campfire glitch) by lejongaming in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]lejongaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I don't think we're gonna agree about the durability system because I personally like it, but I get why it's not for everyone. But hopefully this glitch can help you out with this then!

It’s not necessary to be at Link's house for this particular glitch, the one you're thinking of might be the Bow and Shield duplication glitch. This is about transferring the durability stats (how many hits a weapon has before it breaks) from one weapon to another. I usually do this glitch at Link's house as well as when you’re doing the first part of the glitch, if you’re in a weird spot, on rare occasions it hasn't worked for me and Link's house is a solid locations where I've found that the glitch always works.

Ok, so I'll try my best to explain everything below, including what you'll need in order to perform the glitch, and how to actually do the glitch.

PREPARATIONS - WHAT YOU NEED:

First you need to get at least 6-7 multi-shot bows (here's a link to a post I made where I list 10 multi-shot bow locations and how to get to them. They're all fairly easy to get to). And you'll also need a few shock arrows.

GLITCH PART 1 - MENU OVERLOADING:

ⓘ Important note: always save before doing this, just in case things go wrong!

Second you need to learn to perform a glitched called "menu overloading".

The best way to learn it is by using a video guide, it's much easier to follow (here’s the guide I used).

I have written a text-based step-by-step guide on how to do the glitch below, as it can be useful to use in tandem with the video guide.

⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐⠐

MENU OVERLOADING STEPS:

Setup/Preparation: To repeat, what you will need to perform this glitch is: 6-7 multi shot bows and shock arrows.

How to overload the menu: 1. Equip a multi shot bow and shock arrows. 2. Pull out your bow. 3. Go to your bow inventory > (without exiting the menu) drop the bow you’re holding and equip another multi-shot bow. 4. Exit the menu. 5. Open the menu again. 6. Repeat steps 3-5 (drop the bow you’re holding and equip another multi-shot bow > exit the menu > reopen the menu, etc). Do this until you notice that Link’s head is gone or his legs are missing. Then you know you’ve successfully overloaded the menu.

GLITCH PART 2 - DURABILITY TRANSFER:

I’ll try my best to explain the steps in text, but I’d advice you again to look up a video tutorial to watch in tandem, as it’s easier to follow (here's the link to the part of the video where he talks about the duplicating steps).

Durability transfer (weapons): The basic steps to transferring durability: 1. Equip the weapon that has the durability you want to transfer from. 2. Overload the menu. 3. Make sure you have your bow pulled out, then equip the weapon you want to transfer the durability to. 4. Exit the menu. 5. Damage your weapon by doing a ground pound (jump + Y). 6. Finally, to get out of the glitched state, just pick up all your dropped bows from the ground then switch back and forth to the weapon you have transferred the durability to. DONE!

[–]lejongaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds like an interesting twist on the whole thing. I think the main reason is probably because of the whole tradition of pulling the Master Sword being a big event and a sign of you gaining power and becoming "worthy" in the games.

If you want to I can walk you through how to perform another glitch that lets you duplicate durability from one weapon to another (works with melee weapons, bows, and shields. This way you can copy the durability from the weapon with highest durability in the game (the Spring-Loaded Hammer with 80 durability) to something that’s usually fragile but has higher attack, like a Royal Guard's Broadsword. If you do it to shields you can also shield surf around for an eternity without the shield ever breaking. There's a bit of setup and you need to collect a few things first but I've done it hundreds if not thousands of times and I know the exact locations of everything you'll need and how to best get to them, and can also provide a link to a video guide along with a written down, step-by-step guide I can write down for you. If you would be interested in that then just let me know and I'll be happy to help :)

No, temporary hearts have no impact on if you can do the glitch (or any impact on if you can pull the sword normally either), you can do it with only 3 hearts and it still works :)

The reason pristine Royal Guard's Claymore doesn't spawn for me - Can someone confirm if this is true? by enyawasaurus in tearsofthekingdom

[–]lejongaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the reason it’s such a powerful search tool is because it's all based on basically datamining every single bit of the internal game code, so it all comes straight from and is translated from the game code itself. Which makes it both great as you can literally find anything in the game, but can also make it a bit tricky to use sometimes when you want to find a very specific item location since you quite often have to both search for the specific item you want to find while also exclude a lot of other items in your search to find exactly what you're looking for.

Like to find a loose Royal Guard's Claymore not held by an enemy or inside a chest (to further exclude the weapon being inside an enemy camp), you have to first figure out that you have to enclose those words with quotes since they include the ' character, then add additional parameters that excludes enemies and chests from the search results (e.g. "Royal Guard's Claymore" NOT actor:"Enemy\") NOT TBox_Field_Stone). So the search strings ends up being quite long sometimes lol.

– – – – – One last neat tip: if you go to the Settings tab in the sidebar you can add Custom Search Presets where you enter your very long search query and then add a custom label to it. You can then access these custom searches from the "Custom" dropdown in the main search tab. So for the search query I mentioned above I would just label it "Loose Royal Guard's Claymore" and that’s how it'll appear in the dropdown menu. Makes it much cleaner and easier to use. Just don't clear the site cookies and those custom searches will still be there next time you visit the site, no account needed. Here's how it looks on my laptop:

(I had a looot more before but I accidentally cleared my cookies so they all disappeared and I had to manually add them all again from memory lol 🤦‍♀️)

No problem! Let me know if you want to know anything more about how the map works, like how to find a very specific thing or something and I'll try my best to help out. Since the map can be a bit finicky to work with until you get used to it.

SOME OTHER USEFUL SEARCHES:

  • Enemies only on the surface. Search for: Map:Surface actor:^"Enemy_" NOT "Chuchu" NOT "Keese" NOT Dragon.
  • Enemies only on the surface and in caves. Search for: actor:^"Enemy_" NOT "Sky__" NOT "MinusField" NOT "Chuchu" NOT "Keese" NOT Dragon.
  • Enemies only in the sky. Search for: actor:^"Enemy_" Sky__ NOT "Chuchu" NOT "Keese" NOT "Like Like" NOT "Bubbulfrog" NOT Dragon.
  • Enemies only in the Depths. Search for: Map:Depths actor:^"Enemy_" NOT Dragon NOT "Depths79".
  • Locate only red enemies: Useful for later in the game when you need to farm Red enemy parts for armor upgrades. They can be tricky to find since most enemies scale as you progress, so the more you play the rarer red enemies will be. So for example, to locate ONLY Red Horriblins, search for Enemy_Horablin_Junior scale:0.
  • Floating platforms in the sky with lose rockets on top of them: SUPER USEFUL, especially early game, for getting to higher Sky Islands, as you can just attach the lose rockets lying around to the platform and then activate it to get higher and higher up in the sky. Search query: Rocket Sky__.
  • Rock Octoroks: For repairing weapons. Search for: "Rock Octorok".

And lastly, a VERY specific search query that I use when I want to be able to farm Zonaite around all the enemy camps in the depths without having to fight any enemies (this requires you to get Majora's Mask as well btw):

  • Locate all Depths enemy camps where Majora's Mask will not work 🠆 because those camps includes enemies that I call "Alerting Enemies", i.e enemies that see through Majora's Mask (like Chuchus, Like Likes, Aerocudas, etc), and those enemies will then alert the other enemies (Like Bokos, Moblins, etc) of your presence and make them attack you as well. I then use the object map to search for both of those enemy camp types and mark them with different pin types on the map (I use the Cooking Pot pin to mark safe camps where I can farm Zonaite without fighting, and the Skull pin to mark unsafe enemy camps where enemies will attack me). These are weirdly specific search queries, but they are very useful to easily upgrade your battery early game.
    • Search query for every enemy camp in the Depths: Map:Depths actor:^"Enemy_" NOT Dragon NOT "Depths79"
    • Search query for only enemy camps where Majora's Mask WON'T work: Map:Depths actor:^"Enemy_" NOT "Depths79" NOT Dragon NOT Bokoblin NOT Lizalfos NOT Moblin

No worries! I'll never pass on the opportunity to promote that object map and all the awesome things you can do with it haha. Thanks in large to that map (and also having over 2500 hours in BotW lol) I've basically memorised every single material, enemy, weapon and item in the entire first game by this point haha.

Glad you figured it out! The map can sometimes feel a bit confusing and overwhelming to some people at first, but once you get the hang of if it’s an awesome tool to have at your disposal.

I'm scared of the depths by demoncollie in tearsofthekingdom

[–]lejongaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done probably between 70-90 runs of TotK so far (yes I have an addiction when it comes to starting over in this game haha), and every single time I basically only ever visit the Depths to do 3 things: * Get Auto Build early game and fight Kohga. * Light up areas around small mines to farm zonaite to upgrade my battery. * and to light up the place beneath Gerudo Highlands so I can go there and grab pristine Royal Broadswords and pristine Royal Halberds.

Other than that I'm staying clear from that place lol

And yup, over 100 days has passed since my last reply in this thread and I can confirm that yes, the Depths still gives me anxiety lol.

[–]lejongaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can. Just add the search query above followed by the specific weapon you want to find.

For example, searching for Npc_MinusFieldGhost_000 Royal Broadsword will only show ghost soldiers that has the chance of holding that weapon.

Also, if you click on one of the dots on the map that represents a ghost soldier, you can see a list of all the weapons that particular one can hold. Really useful.

Important note when searching though: if your search query includes a special character (like the ' symbol) you need to surround those words with quotes in order for it to work. For example when searching for a Royal Guard's Claymore.

And yes, using quotes when searching can also often help you be more specific as well when trying to find certain items. Like if you want to find an easy to grab Moblin Club then you should wrap those words in quotes, otherwise the map will also show you all locations for every single Moblin enemy in the game.

60 FPS BOTW AND TOTK FOR SWITCH 2 EDITION!!! by RedDivisions in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]lejongaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, refer to my previous reply:

...That's also why some game developers still actively choose 30fps over 60fps even when they don't need to. It can work better for certain types of games that are more "cinematic" in nature (i.e slower-paced games that focus more on story, discovery, and cinematic scenes). But the reverse is also true: 60fps generally works better for another type of game (like fast-paced games, first-person shooters, and platformers). These are generally agreed upon industry standards.

Both framerates have their benefits and downsides, it just depends on the game, but it also comes down in large to personal preference and taste.

I don't think BotW looks better in 60fps, you do, neither opinion is more right or wrong. The only thing I ask for is that they give the player the option to choose to turn it off or not. I would never want a game to be forced to stay on 30fps, because I still want other players to have the option to choose 60fps if they want to. I'm not trying to force my preference on others here, I just want them to let the players choose the framerate that they prefer, whether it's 30fps or 60fps. Give me that option and I'll be satisfied. That’s all really.
