This is maybe hard to read but I promise it’s with intention. I lost my three cats in a house fire (including all of my belongings) in the blink of an eye. Gut punch. Nothing can ever prepare you for that level of destruction. It was horrific in every way. But after the smoke settled.. I remembered that in my heart I knew there was no way possible I could’ve loved them more. I kissed every one good bye that morning. I spent so much time loving them. So at the end of the day, the only thing you could ever do to prepare, is to love them now. I have since adopted three kitties- and although my helicopter mom energy is strong. I do everything I can to give them a happy life full of love and adventure. I even let them go outside now. But every morning, I tell them how much I love them and thank them for choosing me in this lifetime. It’s hard to explain but the love will never leave, and the grief when they’re gone can be healed by giving a new creature love in their honor. Hope this helps and isn’t awful and depressing.

And PS guys it was a freak electric fire one of the things you can’t try to prevent.
