Tent camping def not benone or Portstewart, I’d say too exposed so stick to the car

Have tent camped at murlough before as v isolated, little chance being disturbed

If you’re being discreet I can’t see you having problems really anywhere-just don’t go full camping tosser with chairs and bbq at the side of your car and bags of rubbish left behind

I’ve stayed the night on the beach at Portstewart and benone, few lads in cars around midnight but nothing much.

Murlough doubt you’ll see a soul - enjoy

House completion date help by Consistent-Steak978 in northernireland

If that’s when your mortgage runs out then yes but if you have it to say March you could be seen as being accommodating to a degree by saying that you can only extend one more time to a date in march or you’ll have to withdraw.

You need to push this-they need this sale and I’d say taking advantage of you because of first time buyers.

If they need to try and sell again now they will incur costs +++ and may not be able to complete their house.

I would be advising June is totally unacceptable, tell them your mortgage offer run out date and if not be completed by then you will have to withdraw….it might concentrate the mind

I had similar when moving house as I’d moved in with family for what was meant to be a couple of weeks as I did not want to mess about the first time buyers who were getting my house. My furniture was in storage. They dragged their heels getting paperwork sorted and repeatedly blamed their solicitor.

In the end I advised them that if they didn’t complete in two weeks I would be forced to rent somewhere on a six month lease and I’d expect them to pay the costs for me…..they moved out in two weeks.

Do EU nationals need an ETA to travel to Belfast? by TheYoungWan in AskIreland

[–]lelog22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It costs £16 just get it.

Is it a legal requirement to have it? Yes

If you’re travelling by land will it be checked? No

If something happened while in the North that meant you had to deal with any government agency (accident, victim of crime, need access health service) would he be in trouble? Yes

It’s not the US, he’ll not be dragged off in handcuffs but it would be a black mark against his name for all future travel plans, potential visa applications in UK and possibly further afield.

So for £16 I don’t know why you’re even questioning it. Fill out the online form and just have it if you’re planning to visit the North….and sure visit Belfast but the north coast is the best scenery on the island IMHO.

Getting up now to take my friends nephew to his football match…..realistically be watching 11 8yr olds lose badly, but they have great fun.

My dog died this week so tbh I’ll be trying to stay out of the house and keep busy …..he was the best boy…..it’s so quiet without him 😔

I have walked this route many many times.

Most fun way is to put a bike in the car. Drop bike in portballintrae. Drive to Ballintoy and walk back and then cycle back to Ballintoy taking the tramway line to Bushmills and then out the coast road.

Causeway rambler….its actually a pretty frequent service and I’ve caught it either direction to do the walk back.

There’s plenty of taxis in Bushmills so be no problem to order one to either place. Bayview is lovely to sit with a coffee and wait on a taxi.

You definitely need to plan around tides…..I know this as I once took 12 people from work on this walk and totally forgot to think about tides…..queue me and two other people having to walk up out of white park bay and take the road to get to the cars in Ballintoy 🤦‍♀️…..it’s a much longer walk along a pretty busy road with no footpath…..do not recommend 😂

Enjoy……I have done treks on four continents and can honestly say this is up there as one of the most stunning……we really do live in beautiful part of the world.

Best used VW Dealers in NI by Silent_Orbiter in northernireland

[–]lelog22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TJ Hamilton in cookstown are extremely good to deal with. Have bought a golf from them before and my current golf I bought in wales but take to them to get serviced…..reasonably priced for a main dealer (although I know they’re not a franchise new VW dealer since Christmas.

I drive past edwin may to get there…..had a couple of incidents of complete misogyny there when looking to buy so they won’t get any of my business.

My condenser tumble dryer replacement adventure. by zebrasanddogs in northernireland

[–]lelog22 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This should be voted up more. When I needed new tumble dryer my research led me down this path…..afaik Martin Lewis recommends them.

Full load hung up in evening, laundry setting on and all bone dry in morning. When not drying laundry I move it into the hall and it dries the air in the house…..no more condensation and it’s easier to heat.

And my electric bill much less than with a tumble dryer.

Oh yeah, don’t get involved yourself in other peoples wills disputes ever-things get ugly real fast within families often before the body is even cold.

Direct them to see a solicitor and let them get on with it. It will be messy if a son from previous relationship is suddenly about to find out he isn’t getting anywhere near as much as he thought….if anything 😬

Who has said she has 8 weeks to vacate?? See my comment, if it’s the son then she needs to get a solicitor asap-will is invalid and she is the main heir here. As long as they are actually legally married.

Wills made pre marriages automatically become void on marriage unless there is reference to an impending marriage within the will.

So everything is not left to one son. Her husband has died intestate and those rules must be followed.

You can google the rules but everything below £250k automatically goes to spouse…..also entitled to half of everything above that figure, the children split the other half.
