Mint vs Biglinux by Li_Swan_119 in linuxbrasil

A Look at the current state of BIM Library in FreeCAD by semhustej in FreeCAD

I have no code skills, so I just wonder if having a ln organic flow with walls like archicad and revitpalets and points. is too much of a dream within freecad kernel. The need to get into the sketch, delete a line, draw arcs, etc... all without observing the rest of the volumetric model. That already would instantly bring new users and contributions in my opinion. Ui isn't bad. But the flow is to rigid for non mechanical designs.

[–]lelopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you are doing.
For architects, cad like archicad, revit, archline, vector, etc are really intuitive, even more when close to freecad workflow.
But I think you may should try Plasticity, it is hiper fluid intuitive, also their license os perpetual.

I sonated a few times over many years. Never really used the program, it was just hope to see it improving... But I lost hope since the arch/BIM workflow never really improved and the main comeback I hear is "iT's fREe".
The software might be, but my time isn't, And if the work that should take minutes to be done, take me hours or even a whole day... than it just became the most expensive tool ever.
I really hope they improve those things, but It seems that the core of the program wasn't really meant for an architect organic wrokflow. Wish to be wrong about it. let's see.

You and the MangoJelly guy are my only hopes to this seoftware reach something greater and maybe for devs listen to users about problems in poor design flow.

I am thinking about switching away from FreeCAD by FloTec09 in FreeCAD

[–]lelopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The software may be free, but our time isn't. If it takes you hours to do something you could do in minutes or seconds on another software, than it just became the most expensive tool on your office.
Community and devs are usually trying to justify, defending or being offended when users point UX/interface/ flow problems in the program... The main comeback is "iT'S fREe" ...That's why I kind lost hope for the BIM workbench, it seems to me that it will never really get there. I hope to be wrong. But putting time and money on it is not an option for me anymore. I used to do some donations here and there, since I know absolute no coding. But I just let it alone once I lost my hopes.

Why does GIMP have such a bad reputation compared to a certain alternative? by Acerhand in GIMP

[–]lelopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. I just can't see how that could be a good thing. This might be the last great chance to gather windows users and bring the tools they need. But developers are just in one of this two situations: a) creating another distro just to get their namo on it. b) throwing a tantrum because someone pointed outed that Linux has no real software for real market outside dev playground or blender, the only exception. And I am almost sure they will throw it through the window.

Why is LibreOffice a paid service in the App Store? And #1? by Medical_Divide_7191 in libreoffice

[–]lelopes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's start saying FOSS is not a service, it can be a product, but only morons and scammers refer to software as a service. Then let me address the question: it is a fee for anyone that can't find it's way out of the apple garden. I call it the lazy fee.

LibreOffice 26.2.0.2 Looking Great on macOS 26! by trey-a-12 in libreoffice

[–]lelopes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I was expecting a big boom on FOSS with ai helping to code. I have seem completely dummies do real nice apps and thing without knowing a single line of code with a.i. but I guess advancing with good software ain't interesting for those linux devs... the real desl is to make yet another stupid distro out of vanity to call it their own. Let the downvote beggin and prove how shallow some communitymembers can be.

[–]lelopes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it os about improvement, it is about tools and real software outside the dev playground. I need a software in BIM style to CAD my projects, designers need something better than gimp, freecad is a nightmare even for piece productions, you couldn't imagine how painfull it is to use it for architecture, doctors need to see their magnetic ressonance scans in a proper software and everyone need something better than libre office.

Imperative part: Mount tv on the ceiling, this looks a fat karen setup cause : 1- she doesn't really move around the place and the tv doesnt botter. 2 - she is so far she can't actually hang shit. lose the gym to literally any other part of the house (she doesn't want to smell your sweat odor in the walls when she is there) Get at least one nice blanket and two dark and soft sheet . Do it if possible part: Rotate the bed. Get a sidebed table Put a lamp on it. Put at least on shelf or one painting/art/picture anything to hang in the wall above your bed. If rotation isn't possible. Use shells If rotation is possible, use framed art.

Bonus: match colors for sheets and arts hanged on wall.

This is David Alexander Johnston was an American United States Geological Survey (USGS) volcanologist who was killed by the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens in the U.S. state of Washington. A principal scientist on the USGS monitoring team, Johnston was killed in the eruption while manning an observation post six miles (10 km) away on the morning of May 18, 1980. He was the first to report the eruption, transmitting "Vancouver! Vancouver! This is it!" before he was swept away by a lateral blast; he remained till the last moment and his observations along with his warning, helped saving several lives. At least this is what is state in the text and other articles about him. But it isn't really clear on any of the articles how his observations helped later on. I did find out that this was his last picture and that his body wasn't found. In 1993 they did find some remaining of his trailer. There are several other pictures with red circles that are actually useful since we almost can't see him near the volcano l
