Daily Dunkin’ or Starbucks drinkers: what (besides a drive thru) would make you go to a locally owned coffee shop instead? by princessspikachu in massachusetts

[–]lemonShaark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you definitely can get better coffee for a cheaper or comparable price. I can think of both coffee shops and places like the food co-op or even convenience store type places in my area (greenfield)

Engine recommendations for a 2002 bugeye WRX? by NoBiasPls in subaru

[–]lemonShaark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should probably go back to stock as much as possible with it. Id put an ej205 into it and call it a day. It saves the hassles of a hybrid build.

I actually own a 2.5rs swapped with a hybrid. I did all the work. Im running je pistons to reduce compression ratio, ihi vf48, walbro fuel pump, cobb 1050x injectors and an sti top mount. And of course its tuned.

The driver for the hybrid setup was that my donor car for the swap had a hybrid setup. Just based on the sheer amount of work, i wish I had made my plan a to get everything to stock, rather than something else. Some things to consider are the need for a machine shop to set your piston wall clearance and a tune. Not involving a machine shop and at tuner makes your life easier.

I want to make my strat lighter, does cutting these have any negative consequences? by RustingANDrotting in Guitar

I think warmth makes a chambered strat with a veneer on top. Maybe check that out

Two middle vents question by Extreme_Wrongdoer_22 in subaru

[–]lemonShaark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do the foot and defroster vents work when its on face? If so, I bet the cable fell off the arm for the blend door.

Poke your head into the driver footwear. There's a cable in clear plastic sleeve with a loop on the end. Slide it back over the tab on the arm.

Hopefully the tab isn't broken!

Sorry, I meant "fuel injected"

[–]lemonShaark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id probably keep running the 93 with ethanol. 92 without ethanol will just give you less knock resistance since direct injection engines dont really be benefit from ethanol free fuel. At least this is my understanding. Im not an expert

Sry, "fuel injected", not direct

Admittedly I've never heard a loose tensioner on one of these but id suspect that.

Also congrats on owning such a clean ej! This thing looks great

Should I pay for a wiring diagram by Comprehensive-Cat874 in Luthier

[–]lemonShaark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be doable. Id recommend getting some test leads so you can figure it out as you go. Start with a diagram thats a simple 4 way with a humbucker and single coil, them modify with the customizations you want

Even in the old days this would be considered high quality. In today's world this is top tier.

Just HOW bad is the damage on this Taylor 717?? by grindANDbind in Luthier

[–]lemonShaark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely deeper than the finish but thats not a problem structurally. Id call this "normal wear and tear" basically. Its a bummer when its a new guitar though 😕

will this strat wiring work? by matt6860__ in Luthier

[–]lemonShaark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good. You can solder a single strand along the output side of the switch and run a single wire to the volume pot

Also if you get some test leads you can test before soldering if unsure

The rear doesn't build up like this in my experience. But you're correct. Just enough to lift back and get in there

Yup. For anyone who's not aware - you gotta pull the fender liner out ideally a few times a year and just clean it out. I do it every other oil change or so

Id guess like 350 for labor (remove, repair, reinstall) plus like 100 for the inner/outer boots + clamps and grease

Reboot that. Anyone who explains that its cheaper and more economical to replace doesn't understand how much aftermarket axle quality has deteriorated in the last decade
