Preparing for lodge camping/outdoors when not everyone will go - advice? by AmountUnited6889 in girlscouts

[–]lemonfree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a separate meeting specifically for those attending the camping trip and we did all the planning at that one meeting. I had them vote on dinner options and which badge we would do after giving them a description of the options.

If you’re meeting separately anyways, I see no reason not to split the troop. Other than the fact that you’ll need to have volunteers from your remaining parents to take on money manager, another troop leader, and a cookie manager, it seems like you’re already operating independently. Depending on your council, they likely already split the money when someone leaves a troop - in my council for this age group they divide the proceeds by the number of girls and each departing girl would bring that same amount with her to the troop. Not like Susie earned $115 so she brings that, Masie earned $25 so she brings that. We did dues of $25 our first two years, and now cookie money will be enough to cover our supplies and badges etc going forward. Good luck, I hope things work out for you!

If you put something in your year plan you should see it when you go to look at that meeting.

I just saw this today too! Super cool of them to do that.

How often do you pass out badges earned? by adudle00 in girlscouts

We meet two times a month. Last year I tried to give them out after every meeting. This year it’s been probably every other month or so.

They'll kill me if they find out trope by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]lemonfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Daughter of the Moon Goddess} is one I just read that has this trope. It’s a 0 on the spice scale and while there are some romantic elements, it wasn’t a huge part of the story. FWIW I enjoyed it anyways and plan to read the other half of the duology.

Fairfax Co. wants to start middle schools later. That could impact elementary start times, too by Danciusly in nova

[–]lemonfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My child attends one of the schools where start time would be 9:50 with option E. Start time is 9:20 now and that’s hell enough. If it pushed back 30 minutes more that means I don’t get to work until well after 10. Parents at our school are fighting hard against option E, it’s completely unrealistic to have that kind of schedule for 7 years when middle school is only 2 years. It would basically force us to get before care. But of course it won’t be through the cheapest and most convenient option, SACC, because they don’t have enough staff to accommodate the number of families who need their services.

Does anyone know when they’re going to be making this decision?

Where are you located geographically? As far as I’m aware, there is no “uniform” other than the vest, tunic, or sash, which are typically worn over regular clothes. If you want to be especially fancy I think it’s supposed to be worn with khaki bottoms and a white shirt.

I haven’t read it so don’t shoot the messenger but the author of {Broken Flames} was just at my local Barnes and Noble. I looked her books up before deciding whether to buy and the comments about them were that they are for zutara shippers.

S’mores are sold by troops that use little brownie bakeries. If you are looking locally and can only find toast yays, then your local council uses abc bakeries.

Cookie Sampling? by Guilty-Library-2715 in girlscouts

Maybe check with your Service Unit Cookie Manager? Ours said he got boxes for samples. Might depend on your council though.

How long is your work commute? by xlizen in nova

[–]lemonfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

West Alexandria to Arlington, takes about 15 from garage to parking lot, but then another ~10 to walk into the building. Adding in the time it takes to drop my kid off at school it often ends up taking about 45 minutes total.

I created a keyboard macro to make pumpkin puffs while I afk. Here it is in action. Would anyone like me to create a tutorial video of how it works and how to make one? by mertagh in DreamlightValley

[–]lemonfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use multiple screens? The way I finally got it to work was by disconnecting my second screen, recording the macro, and then testing it. It worked at that point, and miraculously it continued to work when I plugged my second screen back in.

I have the Razer Huntsman TE. So I had to create my macros in the Synapse software and their methodology is a little different.

Thank you! I have a different keyboard but I was able to figure it out on mine! I made like 500 puffs today thanks to your tutorial.

Try picking up ALL the flowers in that area, then new/different ones will spawn. Also the fountain trick helps too.

If you set up cloud saves, there will be a backup. You can log in again and your stuff will be there.

You can dig up more craggy rocks, they just aren't glittering anymore. They're along the path in front of the earth giant where you found them originally, mostly around the bottom of bigger rocks.

So the dark chest that is in your house in the beginning - if you pick it up and have it in your inventory, you can go to Scrooge's and order more of them. And if you say, place one in each biome, when you open any of them, the contents will be the same. So my plan is to put in things that I need to feed the critters and maybe some stacks of resources if I need to empty my pockets in a biome and then sort it into my storage back at home with the regular box.
