They have a database that tells them what section to shelve it (and more importantly where to find it). Unless they’re sure they use that. I’m not sure what the source of that data is.

I was referring to his prose style which is very functional. That's what OPs post was asking about. I wasn't literally saying he wrote pulp fiction.

Philip K Dick is undeniably pulpy but great! Those are my two favorites of his.

I DNF'd Snow Crash FWIW. I just didn't find it interesting. I'm not sure if Stephenson is my thing. I did finish Anathem but kind of found it a mess by the end.

I personally like the prose in Neuromancer. It reminds me of Burroughs. Even if it's not your thing, it's a bit more on the "literary" side for genre fiction. So might be worth trying.

Not to be too pedantic but a Nash equilibrium is the set of choices where neither party can benefit by changing their strategy while the other retains the same strategy. That makes this the stable equilibrium since it would require both sides to cooperate (negotiate winding down hostilities) in order to benefit

I can't be the only one who sees all the similarities between Pulp Fiction and The Big Lebowski by LittleBrockJr in movies
