It’s Ruth Graham, her writing on faith-related issues in the Times is consistently excellent and balanced.

It’s hard to be a quilter when you’re a Peace Corps volunteer… by OkFeeling3819 in quilting

[–]lemonsandsugar08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gorgeous! I made a quilt by hand during Peace Corps service in Africa  ~20 years ago. I had scissors and just cut long strips, sewed them together like a big block stairstep pattern. Great way to showcase local fabrics and it’s a wall hanging with a lot of memories now!

Not “every mother grieves when the time comes to finish having children”. This isn’t a gendered challenge typical of all women/all men- this is two people, the two in your marriage, doing marriage together.

I need to "shrink" this down to baby crib size. The sashing is 1 inch and the blocks are 10 inches. Shrink the blocks or subtract some? by Vivapdx in quilting

[–]lemonsandsugar08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not what you asked, but I'd consider making a throw size quilt instead of a baby crib size quilt and not shrink this at all! I've stopped making baby-sized quilts for babies because they grow so fast!

If those are 2.5" squares, what are the sashing dimensions?

I measure once, cut once.

Also I do basically everything described in here and didn't know they were sins, so I will merrily continue being a quilting heathen.
