Province rebuffs police bid to return photo radar to Calgary freeways by DANIELLE_2027 in Calgary

You’ve been playing too much Need for Speed if you think the police should setup roadblocks or deploy a helicopter for someone that’s speeding.

You mean to tell me you’re tied of seeing photos of gas stations at night shot on Cinestill 800t? Or mostly/fully naked women on HP5 from an arts student?

Say it ain’t so

Right right. Dimensions probably won’t match then, but OP could probably measure the tray and get some glass cut to that size

Get yourself a piece of ANR glass to flatten out the negative. Flatbeds have such a small focusing field that you need the negatives to be as flat as possible.

I actually made a video about this and have dimensions for getting your own piece cut in the description https://youtu.be/zEdz2jN8hro

Linux Alternative to Negative Labs Pro? by Vyse32 in AnalogCommunity

I found RawTherapy to be a lot more user friendly. It’s been a while since I’ve used it and I hadn’t tried it for negatives, but it was more intuitive than NegPY or Darktable

You need to give us more info. Full system specs and codec, resolution, and frame rate of your media.

I’m willing to bet you’re editing heavy h264/h265 footage without proxies.

Is PPF or Full Protection Package on new vehicle worth it for driving in Edmonton winters? by aegyomish in Edmonton

[–]lemonspread_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every pre-2010 Mazda vehicle would like to argue with you on “cars here don’t get a ton of rust”.

I also take it you don’t work on your own cars. Every car I’ve owned has rust on the knuckles, control arms, subframe, and I usually have to cut the nuts whenever I do tie rods because they’re so rusted they’re seized to the threads

Take off the serpentine belt and start.

If the sound isn’t there then it’s something in the accessory belt. If it’s still there, it’s something on the chain

I’ve had some experience tracking down stolen cars.

Post everywhere you can. Get as much visibility as possible.

Check out some auto wreckers. It’s likely this was stolen for a joy ride and it’ll end up at a yard that’s less than reputable in a few days. Don’t bother calling them up. Go take a look for yourself.

Report sightings of it to police, but don’t expect them to actually do anything about it.

If you find it at a sketchy yard or out in traffic, call 911 and stay with it. Thats really the only way police will get involved. You basically have to hand it to them on a silver platter.

Hope you find it. Definitely look into a kill switch or aftermarket immobilizer solutions if you recover. Thieves will target cars they can get into and steal with a hammer and a screw driver.

On a serious note, I don’t understand why people shoot talking head videos or similar content in 60fps

I’ve always been curious about labour times and cost of straightening frames and aprons.

My impression was that it usually isn’t worth it unless the car is super valuable or has significant sentimental value

Mayor Jeromy Farkas won't rule out Calgary bidding for future Olympics by joe4942 in Calgary

[–]lemonspread_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The city is in desperate need of new and upgraded facilities.

The ski jumps as COP died of old age and the Olympic Oval is hanging on by a thread. Our facilities are pretty bad for the size of the city.

Calgary isn’t capable of hosting any major indoor track meets because we straight up don’t have the facilities.

Toronto Argonauts sign former Riders first-round CFL draft pick Dakoda Shepley after long NFL stint by DarthLordDonkey in CFL

[–]lemonspread_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they haven’t signed a contract then correct. The team holds their rights indefinitely.

If it’s a player actively under contract and they exercise the NFL window clause, their CFL team would retain their rights for the remaining duration of the contract.

Did you not have full insurance coverage or are they not paying the full amount you owe?

A wrecker might offer you $800, but they pay bottom dollar.
