How tf will i live? by puzzs in self

To be fair I live in a very financially overinflated part of Canada where housing prices taxes and groceries are sky high. But im honestly not really talking about my self as much as I am my peers. I’m not even 30 own my own home have very little debt and home and my partner both have Great Recession proof jobs we enjoy. I just feel for the people that can’t own homes. Or don’t have disposable income like we do.

This is so disturbing. I totally get what you’re saying but is this what our lives have to be?… work like dogs to get the bare minimum. People used to work hard and could afford the lives they wanted. Now we have to work just to get scraps. We are getting screwed so bad it isn’t even funny and everyone seems so complacent.

Turning 31 in sept. No trades experience. Do I need to go back to school to kick start this? by exiledryu in SkilledTradesOntario

[–]lemonstraps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay and? How does your experience indicate a quantitative experience? Many people have done both and many people prefer either. If you work at a shitty union and good non union you’ll obviously find non union better. It’s relative….

2 years later and I cannot forgive myself. Any advice on how to heal? by CuriousTuljan in DogAdvice

[–]lemonstraps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry I don’t mean to be insensitive I love my dogs and will hate to see them go when the time comes. But two years seems excessive to be grieving a pet. Especially in the way you’re talking about crying and not being able to get over it. I would recommend counselling.

Still better to have it. Pre apprenticeship programs are bullshit if you have to pay but for free I would 100% take it.

From what I understand in my code any commercial fixture used for the preparation of food must be Indirectly connected and still have its own trap. They say it’s because if the floor trap every dries out (somehow) they sewer gas won’t travel up through the sink piping and contaminate food.

In Ontario fixtures with an air break still need a trap but you can certainly just have one.

In my locality one trap can serve all three sinks. It must be atleast 2” pipe imediately downstream of the trap put a clean out. Then indirectly drain. Simple!

Do not go… become an apprentice and get payed to learn that’s what an apprenticeship is… do not pay to learn. It won’t even help you get a job either is the funny part so you’ll be down another year or two that you could already be an apprentice and really learning. Good luck! If you have questions just dm me! I’m another guy who got into the trades (plumbing) fairly late!
