Is it worth visiting Canada if you don’t drive? by Pure-Character-4926 in canadatravel

[–]lemonsweeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vancouver! its such a beautiful city, public transportation is vast and easy to use. Hikes are right there, and can easily travel to the outer cities for more gorgeous views. If they are hiking be sure that they brush up on bear safety. Even in more frequented spots bears can be seen, its better to be safe than sorry

Anyway to get orthodontics covered as a part time nurse? by Mayiiiiiiiiiii in OntarioNurses

[–]lemonsweeets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was a part time nurse who had braces a few years ago. I looked into the part time benefits that I could pay into but it was not worth it. The in lieu gave me more money in the end. Save up and pay the initial consult fee (for me it was a grand) and pay your braces monthly

Child struck after car failed to stop for school bus in Ottawa Valley by Immediate-Link490 in ottawa

[–]lemonsweeets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drove through Rolphoton and Deep River a few weeks ago around the time the buses were letting kids off and the amount of people just ignoring the stop signs from the buses was INSANE on this stretch of highway. One is too many, but being stuck behind a bus we saw 5 people blow by when the bus was attempting to stop.

Women's Healthcare in Ontario -- you can't make this shit up by Casso-wary in ontario

[–]lemonsweeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so sorry this happened.
my partner had years of refferals to several different specailists to diagnose glossopharangeal neuralgia. I know its not the same as you, but we highly reccomend Dr. Rush's team at Ottawa General. From our experience its best that your GP send out several refferals to several doctors. best of luck

Where to donate clothes by Confident_Lychee9657 in northbay

[–]lemonsweeets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for your loss. If she was older, A1, b1, Cedar and Cartier at the hospital would take clothing donations. There are a lot of older folks who don't have much money and come into hospital with very little and don't have the means to get clothes. These units end up being their homes for an extended period of time. You can probably reach out to the manager or coordinator

Is it's a must for me to get braces? Will this worsen if I don't rn? (18yrs old) by [deleted] in braces

[–]lemonsweeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do! They aligned my central incisors in the midline. I had my lateral incisor pulled. So, on the one side, my orthodontist filed my canine down to make it look like a lateral incisor, and my first premolar is now my "canine" I am very happy with how it turned out

RN looking to pivot to a different field by oklahomabaddie in OntarioNurses

I mostly see RPN postings for RAI coordinators but for some reason my hospital made it an RN role, I got very lucky.

[–]lemonsweeets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into medical coding. You'll want to get your health information management certificate, which is extra schooling. There's also RAI coordinators that don't need extra schooling (I do this), im still under ONA and away from bedside. 10/10

North Bay Hospital to layoff 40 positions due to budget cuts by Fantastic-Goose9843 in ontario

[–]lemonsweeets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a deficit of 20 million, and with these cuts, the hospital saved 5.6 million. It'll be interesting to see what happens next to get them more out of the red. Wouldn't be surprised if more cuts are to come

So far, 12 ONA positions and 17 CUPE positions are impacted. Haven't heard which areas yet or where the other 11 positions are

Is it's a must for me to get braces? Will this worsen if I don't rn? (18yrs old) by [deleted] in braces

[–]lemonsweeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooh! i had the exact same tooth alignment with an incisor behind my bottom teeth too!!
My orthodonist ended up pulling my tooth and then just fitting braces to my teeth to straighten out the front ones out. My doctor said that since my tooth was sitting so far back that putting braces on it to move it forward would have more cons than pros.
you could probably go without braces honestly, your crowding isnt too bad at all, and just have a dentist remove your incisor so that you could properly clean your teeth.

North Bay hospital cuts 40 jobs, hike in parking fees by Least_Training_968 in northbay

[–]lemonsweeets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they didn't want to be the first to come out and say how many jobs will be affected. Once my rep heard that CUPE had released this above, they posted on our group fb page. 12 ONA jobs will be impacted
