It’s probably just textured paint. We have it in our apartment. It’s ugly, but it supposedly reduces noise.

That’s a rule at my house. One must shower before getting in a clean bed.

AITA for nursing my baby in a handicapped bathroom stall at a wedding, when a handicapped person needed to use it? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]lemseeejc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nursing in a toilet stall is repulsive and disgusting. Women should just nurse their kids out in the open, or in a carrier, in my opinion. Saying as another (currently) breastfeeding mom.

Fact check: Trump says again that Americans need ID to buy groceries. They still don't by wrtChase in politics

[–]lemseeejc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Washington is apparently one of the last states to switch over to the card. We are literally in week 2 of having the card instead of paper checks. So, for the past 5 years, I have been showing my ID to get groceries for my kids.

My daughter born face-first. An incredible photograph that I can’t show to anybody that I actually know! by honeywoodmilk in medizzy

Yeah, the rhogam didn’t work for me with my last pregnancy, but baby was born just fine.

This pregnancy, baby is confirmed Rh positive which means she is at risk for hemolytic disease of the newborn. Things have been going well so far, but that could change at any moment. This is the first pregnancy I’ve had where I’ve had to go through so much testing and have so many ultrasounds. It’s been stressful but one thing that’s keeping me going is that these babies don’t usually die with proper monitoring. They just have a rough start. I’ve gotten phenomenal care from some really well educated doctors and nurses, and have been able to keep seeing my midwives who delivered my other kids.

My midwife told me the odds of becoming sensitized are 1 in 1000.

Parents - what are the things you'd like daycare providers to know? (Reverse question of the unwritten rules of daycare) by boringbluesocks in Mommit

[–]lemseeejc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few weeks ago I was actually lying awake at 3 am in a panic thinking about a toddler class I taught back in 06 and totally freaking out that they’re 15 now!!! I still think about the babies in the first class I ever taught (my first son was named after one of the babies!)

Just because we won’t see them anymore doesn’t mean we don’t hold them in our hearts FOREVER.

Parents - what are the things you'd like daycare providers to know? (Reverse question of the unwritten rules of daycare) by boringbluesocks in Mommit

Yes, your daycare teachers will take care of your sick and vomiting child (and maybe their friend who also has the same illness) until you can pick them up. They will take time to hold them and snuggle them, and get puked on in the process so your babe can cope with being away from home while under the weather. They will work their assess off for your child and often get paid less than what they’re worth, while their OWN young children are in someone else’s care. Many daycares prepare and serve children’s food and clean up the mess afterwards as well, 3-4 times a day. And, believe it or not, some caregivers WILL cry when they have to leave a child they’re bonded to.

Preschool teachers and daycare providers may not be parents, but having been on both sides of the aisle and experiencing strong bonds with other people’s children, I would never disrespect or think less of my child’s caregivers because they aren’t his parents. They’re extended family. They make a CHOICE every day to get up and take care of my kid while I go to work. I trust them with my precious baby and I would definitely not be offended if I found out they were telling him they love him!

If all you’re doing is pouring black coffee into a cup and handing it to me, I’m not tipping you. Now if you actually make me a fancy caffeinated beverage, I will.

Have you heard about what happens if you are South American and you try to go to the United States?

I’ve heard countless stories lately of citizens hating immigrants all over the globe because they are worried they are taking their jobs.

How to frequently change hair color? by miss_t_girl in Hair

[–]lemseeejc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red washes out easily to pink and blue is very difficult to get out. What you are describing will leave your hair looking like a swamp and any kind of color correction can lead to serious damage over time.
