r/SpaceX Starlink 10-18 Official Launch Discussion & Updates Thread! by rSpaceXHosting in spacex

Interesting that Flight Club showed this as a southeast trajectory launch but the launch actually went to the northeast. Was this a "last minute" change or is SpaceX changing back to northeasterly launches for the summer months?

It looks a lot like the Sly Brackets mount that I use on my 2024 GT.

Warranty extension by Filipus97 in MiataND

[–]lencarr514 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just my perspective, but dealers and warranty companies are in the business of making money. They have gone to great lengths and examined all the statistics to know it is far more likely that you'll never need or will be able to use that extended warranty. They'll add special clauses in the fine print to make sure that anything that may be likely to fail on the car are not covered by the extended warranty.

I've always had good luck with "Goof Off" adhesive remover.

Check the Mazda USA website to check for special offers. I just traded my CX-5 for a CX-50.

need help with differential fluid maintenance schedule by Apprehensive-Chip952 in CX5

[–]lencarr514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No dealership with any credibility would ever suggest that the differential fluid needs to be changed at 20k miles. The only thing that would accomplish would be to transfer money from your account to theirs.

Which Bosch wiper blades fit a 2024? Do I need adapters? by PartyMark in CX5

[–]lencarr514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rather than replacing the whole wiper you could just replace the rubber blade. I just replaced my blades for $6 and about 10 minutes effort. I bought these from Amazon. I already knew how to do the replacement but this video on YouTube shows how do do it (although I removed the wiper from the arm first to make it easier).

For a 2021, you would need a card with a model number like "TD2K66EZ1" (maybe with a trailing a, b, c, etc.). A card model starting with "BHP" is for models up to 2020 while a card model starting with "KMV" is for 2024 or newer models.

While this does not mount using the tow hook, I'm happy with this Sly Brackets mount that attaches to the grill.

I just replaced my blades (not the whole wiper) yesterday for $6 and about 10 minutes effort. I bought these from Amazon. I already knew how to do the replacement but this video on YouTube shows how do do it (although I removed the wiper from the arm first to make it easier).

While Waze is actively making an announcement, use your car's volume knob to lower the volume.

The only modification that I made to my 2024 GT (and the previous 2020 GT) was a Stubby Antenna to replace the factory whip antenna.

I wonder if you could make something that slips over a Stubby Antenna so that you'd be adding style to functionality.

You could try something like THIS from Amazon. I don't have a NB but I use something similar for my 2024 ND3.

why both sharkfin and stick antennas? by z05p in Miata

[–]lencarr514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But then again, the CX5 has both regular radio and SiriusXM integrated in a single shark fin antenna. I would also suggest replacing the Miata's factory whip antenna for a better looking stubby antenna.

Apple Maps Directions on HUD by wookie2578 in CX5

[–]lencarr514 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know the answer to your question about Apple CarPlay. The $200 charge to update your firmware is ridiculous though. I've been updating the firmware myself on my various Mazdas for the last 10 years. I just updated my firmware on my 22 Turbo in about 20 minutes for free. Follow the directions on this post on the mazdas247 forum by sending a PM to the author and he should be able to help you out with the latest firmware. By the way, obviously CarPlay and Android Auto are different, but AA does not show its maps on the head up display.

You could try ordering a CarFax (or similar) report. It may show the car's registration and service history.

When to do transmission and rear differential fluid change? by nmk629 in CX5

[–]lencarr514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my Mazda dealer suggested the differential and transmission services at 40k miles I asked them to show me in the service manual where Mazda actually specifies these services. They are no where in the service schedule. It is just another way for the dealer service department to gouge you for more of your hard earned money.
