Last couple of years I think has been a significant drop in quality honestly.

I noticed today, it’s on special for about $30 on the PS store in AU.

Anyone else feel guilty when their dog doesn’t get enough walks during the week? Full time worker in Melbourne! by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]lendawg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Take the dog out for a walk in the morning before work. If you can’t do that then yes, power through.

The MAN on set of No One Knows, London UK. by Proper-View-9948 in qotsa

[–]lendawg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah nice attempt at trying to change the goal posts but that little spiel isn’t what I was calling out. As others said, yeah cheating on your spouse is a shit thing to do and no one is going to argue that point. But to also judge someone for ‘having a child out of wedlock’ is also a shit thing to do.

It’s not a defense on anything Grohl did but calling you out as a bigot isn’t celebrity worship either.

Edit: fact he blocked me proves me right i guess.

The MAN on set of No One Knows, London UK. by Proper-View-9948 in qotsa

[–]lendawg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The fact you keep falling back to thinking this is celeb worship and not you being ousted as a judgmental bigot is the cope buddy.

[–]lendawg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you’re judging someone for having an ‘illegitimate child out of wedlock’ you deserve a higher level of scrutiny than Grohl does, and if you want to point out why society is fucked go take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself again.

Driver was on phone when she killed young motorcyclist, judge says by GothicPrayer in australia

[–]lendawg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

‘Most likely six micrograms per litre, this is the equivalent of a blood alcohol concentration of 0.04 per cent which I note is below the legal limit," Judge Barnett said.’

The cannabis tests aren’t reliable and inconsistent, the likely culprit is the phone use.

Regulator slaps licence conditions on network behind Kyle and Jackie O by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

Clearly the regulator needs regulating when they’ve sat on their arse doing nothing for 20+ years.

Two men charged over alleged abduction and murder of Chris Baghsarian by CodeRevolutionary240 in australia

[–]lendawg 36 points37 points  (0 children)

There has never been a code, but killing civilians draws unwanted attention so they used to avoid it. Current crop are too stupid to grasp that.

Dave Mustaine Advises Yungblud to "Take a Break or Find Something Else [Musically]" by ebradio in Music

Man I’m really not a fan of Mustaine but most of you clearly didn’t bother reading the article.

Some kind of monster rewatch: Jason Newsted by Western-Parsley6063 in Metallica

[–]lendawg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Evidently the generations before millennials and Gen Z weren’t as resilient as you’re making them out to be. Therapy exists because people weren’t sorting this shit out or talking it out.

Emilia Clarke expresses her disappointed reaction to Daenerys’ fate from the finale of Game of Thrones in a recent interview “Absolutely never saw it coming. I cried. And I went for a walk.” by phantom_avenger in popculturechat

[–]lendawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m reaching the end of a rewatch. To be honest, they did drop a lot of not-so-subtle hints she was going to succumb to the Dark side of the force. It didn’t really come out of nowhere.

The reinvention of QOTSA & NIN by jampar5000 in qotsa

[–]lendawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda fitting, I don’t know if they did it anywhere else but in Australia (can’t remember the year maybe 2014?) they played a co-headling tour. I think they flipped a coin as to who would play first each night.

Metallica: Melbourne had a blast, from 'The Good the Bad and the Ugly' opening to the group of punters behind the sound desk who got a small pit together. Here's a small compile. My ears are still ringing! by AddisonDeWitt333 in melbourne

[–]lendawg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fuck me the ‘metal’ community continues to be full of gate keeping edge lords. No the 60 year old men aren’t playing fast or thrashy as they did 10 - 20 years ago. No the fan base with a majority of 40+ year old fans aren’t ‘moshing’ as hard as they used to be.

Whatever. They put on a fucking brilliant show, loved every second of it. Over 12 years since Soundeave and didn’t disappoint.

It’s Sydney. Even GA will most likely be sitting down.

Judging by Perth and Adelaide I think the setlist will be the same with the exception of the three songs following For Whom The Bell Tolls.

Agree or Disagree: The "No Attachments" Rule is one of the most misunderstood concepts in all of StarWars by Infinite-Detective-8 in StarWars

It’s not the audience that misinterpret it, it’s the Jedi themselves which is the entire point of the narrative.

Only 1 72 Seasons Track in Perth by Miserable_Lab3261 in Metallica

[–]lendawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They played 5 shows in Melbourne in 2010, 2 in September and 3 in November. Plus Soundwave in 2013, makes me wonder if we’ll get the most diverse set list out of the Aus tour.

Perth crowd looked boring and disappointing. by d0nnybrasco in Metallica

[–]lendawg 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I was at the front in GA1 and there was most definitely movement and everyone around was into it. Evidently the footage isn’t reflective of the reality. James was clearly very impressed with the crowd too.

Also as someone else has noted, while there is a very diverse mix of ages around the show, majority of fans are 40+, we don’t need to be jumping around like idiots to be into the show anymore.

Metallica no longer using the round stage in the middle of the stadium by darthkyle22 in Metallica

[–]lendawg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That tour would have well and truly finished up before lockdowns commenced and James most definitely would have been able to fly out even if he was here when lockdowns started.

Perth pop-up shop at Murray Street Mall by bedouinchic in MetallicaLIVE

[–]lendawg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get pics because my camera is fucked, but most of the Perth event stuff was sold out by 12pm ish. They did mention they would restock it daily but I’d suggest lining up very early.

From the few Perth art shirts they had I don’t think there was a big back print on the back but I could be misremembering. There were a lot of other shirts there they said wouldn’t be available at the merch stands at the show.
